The good: Nonslip rubber pads; excellent cooling properties.
The bad: Big and bulky; just plain ugly.
The bottom line: The massive Xpad laptop desk isn't going to turn any heads with its utilitarian look, but it can definitely cool down an overheated laptop.

Summary: I got the X-pad and I like it. I have a 13" MacBook and it fits perfectly with a little extra on the side and a little bit more in the back. It does a great job keeping my hot MacBook from burning my lap. I use it all the time, even on my desk because it provides more cooling space underneath. Ugly? I think it looks rather high-tech. I like its look?

AWESOME PRODUCT

Pros: I bought the Xpad to keep my laptop from burning my nuts. It really keeps the heat away from the sensitive parts!!
The rubber pads hold the laptop securely; doesn't slip at all.
Cons: None that I have found so far. I don't know what people are talking about when they say it is "heavy." It seems light to me.

Pros: It keeps the computer cooler, it's padded so that heat wont hit your lap.
Cons: The price, and it didnt keep the computer as cool as they made it seem.

Why not cut a board to the exact dimensions of your laptop?

Pros: Cost is for wood or plastic
Cons: Ambient cooling with no fans
Summary: I think I'll just take a piece of pexiglas or wood and cut a board to the exact dimensions of my laptop.
