Waste of time and money

Pros: Good for making coasters

Summary: This product is only good for making coasters. One out of every four DVDs made were coasters, and that was on a good day.
The IT department bought this for me for work, and I had problems from the beginning. I downloaded the latest firmware, and even had the IT department look into fixing it, but still had problems. Sony products have been going downhill, especially computer products.
Even when it does create a complete DVD without stopping in the middle, the created DVD has errors.

Pros: Works as an average DVD burner
Cons: Hangs during RIPs of DRMed media
Summary: Pretty average DVD-/+RW burner except that RIP attempts often hang due to fair-use-repugnant firmware.

Pros: Compact, easy to use, quiet, handles all I want to use.
Cons: Can be a bit noisy when burning at speed
Summary: Good unit and the dual layer is excellant for backing up hard drives. I use Nero 6 to backup and restore. No problems encountered with unit.
