Pros: excellent picture transfer of nonHD dvds
Cons: need to access menu and change settings to listen over surround sound receiver

Summary: picked this combo up at circuit city as an open box item for $69.... i'd like to note that this unit does NOT have a tuner so you have to pass the signal from your cable box through this unit via composite connections to get the vcr to work .....
dvd goes through hdmi cable ..... pictures are so near HD quality ........ connecting to a samsumg 3253 ....... really impressed .....
however i did experience a audio drop during a dvd play ....... i understand this is an issue with several sets and seems to be through the hdmi hook up ...... to run sound through my 6.1 surround system needed to access menu, audio and select bitstream in order to transfer sound signal ....... a minor hassle .......
