A small, well built and functional DAC.

Pros: Small
Good looking, not over the top.
Solid looking
I really heard a difference on my set up, running A5+'s.
Comes with a headphone output.
USB and optical output
Like all audioengine gear, gold plated connections
no drivers needed, works right away.
Cons: None, i had some issues with static coming from the USB ports but that was not the D1's fault and the support team were really great.

Summary: For pretty much $170, this is one small and i think, a quality dac. I got more detail from my music than ever, and i thought the A5's were pretty good! It seems to bring a rich tone to the music and make everything tighten up. As with all Audioengine gear, it comes in a cloth bag and with a usb lead. Get one and have a listen on your system (with some CD quality audio) and see what you think, Audioengine has a 30 return policy.
