Ate up my RAM and CPU
Pros: The sound is amazing! You can really tell the difference between 16 bit and 24 bit sound.
Cons: It slowed down everything on my P4, 512mb laptop. My CPU usage went to 60% and it ate up about 150mb of my RAM! I will return it and try out the Audigy 2 ZS that is PCMCIA - hope it doesn't eat the resources like this one!

Tons of Fun
Pros: This little sound card is so much fun. I love how it sits nicely on my desk and how I can just plug in my headphones or some other thing so easily. The extras are great like the ability to hook up an electric guitar and record at 96 khz (or something) and
Cons: It is true that it gets kind of hot, but who cares?

Good, could be great!
Pros: I bought the Audigy 2 NX to hook into my surround receiver. I'm especially pleased with the CMSS 3D surround "up-sample" feature.
Cons: 1) The Audigy doesn't remember the mixer volume settings (eg Master and Wave) across a power up/down cycle of the Audigy hardware. I really hate having to go in and reset the volume every time I turn the system on. 2) I would like to apply CMSS 3D to my

Does the job and is portable
Pros: Has pass-through optical and coaxial digital outputs, analog 7.1 out, Dolby Digital EX processing, small remote, optical in for MD players, sleek design, includes speaker cables. Quick email support.
Cons: Needs external power adaptor, can't process DTS (can pass through to an external decoder though), plastic case feels cheap. Software demo tour is good, but the help index is not very complete.

Amazing product @ an unbelievable price
Pros: A lot smaller then the older family member Extigy, amazing sound and DNR level, supports DVD Audio playback, USB 2.0 high speed connection ready for a lot better DVD Audio playback quality and less "traffic jam" on USB resource while using SPDIF decoding
Cons: No MIDI ports, and generates a HUGE amount of HEAT!

Summary: Great sound card for those who don't want to open their computer or mess around with their nootebook. I got this sound card a year ago and its still working fine. Although there were a few glitches in the included software. The creative mediasorce player failed often and it's isn't as great as itunes. The eax console hardly ever works but aside from that its great!

Once I decided to go with 5.1 surround sound, I needed an external USB sound card that would give me everything I needed, 6 channel direct, SPDIF, Line-out, MIC, midi port and so on!
The Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX external USB sound card did just that!
Along with my Logitech Z-680 speaker's control pod, I am able to integrate sounds for my PC, TV, DVD, VCR, headphones and portable device all at once and effortlessly.
People come by and ask me how do I achieve such a tremendous sound with such a complex setup and I smile every time and tell them that "it's actually very easy, it's all in the sound card."
You just can't beat the features, performance, software and price for this unit.
Creative Labs worked some serious overtime when they built the Audigy 2!
