Summary: I've had this drive for 2 months and it is truly crap. I'm working on recovering it now as it somehow switched to RAW and lost my 1.2 TB of music and 400 GB of movies. Tech support was utterly useless after a 50 minute wait on hold with the elevator music from hell. Trust me, spend a little more, get a lot more. I got this as a gift, and after reading several reviews, most on newegg, I must say my experience seems to be the norm with this drive.
Cons: This drive hangs the computer when you warm reboot (hangs during POST) and when you start windows it brings up the auto-play dialog box. And when the power management kicks in, Win7 can no longer recognise the drive.
Summary: Have found lots of other people with probs with this drive - wish I had searched/researched it before buying!

I do not recommend buying this drive and would look at another brand in future.
Pros: The price / capacity ratio is good. It has a nice looking external shell.
Cons: After only 1 month's use, DRIVE HAS FAILED and i can no longer access my data.

Summary: One single month into use this is what i'm experiencing: as soon as i connect the drive to its power adapter you can hear it spin up. However, a few seconds after connecting the provided USB cable to the computer, i can hear the drive spin down and a windows message appears "USB device not recognized". That has dissolved any faith i have in Seagate hard drives.
Stay away from Seagate hard drives, internal o external. They seem to be having internal power management issues, since i've found a LOT of customers post comments about this same issue on Seagate's own forum, without any tech answering a single message. These drives seem to also develop a loud clicking sound that warns of internal failure. SeaTools and DiscWizard software are totally useless, since they cannot see the drive as connected.
