  Bought drive about six months ago.

  Pros: Still under warranty.

  Cons: Drive failed without warning, just starting clicking with 1TB of data lost. The drive was stationary on table so can't understand why it would just become unusable.

  Summary: I have 3 other Goflex drives which I am now worried about. I understand drives fail but just frustrated that it was out of the blue.

  Two complete failures in 2 months!!!

  Pros: It makes cool noises like, click and pop and screechhh!

  Cons: First fail in two week of purchase. Seagate sent me a new one. Second fail produced unrecoverable data!!! Seagate's solution? Sorry for your loss, we can send you a new POS in two weeks. BTW it's going to cost you $10 shipping. F*&# YOU SEAGATE!

  Pros: Portability: I purchased this device specifically because of the portability and my needs. I have two desktop and one laptop computers, all Mac, and I am often out in the field and needed a portable hard drive.

  Cons: Durability: Of all the external Hard Drives I've purchased in the past, this is the first time one has failed in less than 6 months! This is also my first Seagate product, it was on sale at Office Max, now I know why.

  Summary: Tech support has been kind, but a little condescending, I have over 30 years computer experience, so I know how to take care of my equipment.

  Summary: Tech support has been kind, but a little condescending, I have over 30 years computer experience, so I know how to take care of my equipment.
  
  I feel my photographic data has been hijacked. The last time I talked with Seagate Tech Support, they offered to replace my device, but if I want my data back, it will cost $500 to $1500 for data recovery services.
  
  In my opinion, this company is not standing by their product.
