Stopped working after only 1 month!

Pros: nothing good!
Cons: I have been transfering ALL of my music, programs, business files, movies, EVERYTHING to this new external hard drive over the last month. It was purchased 1 month ago from Best Buy online. Everything was working fine until today, ironically 1 day past my

Cheap and Fast External HDD

Pros: -easy to install and use
-common USB mini cable
-quiet when in use
-cheap
-slim design

Summary: Overall, it's a good external hard drive if you need the extra space. As a bonus, it provides power saving technology when your computer shuts down. However, I did notice the lack of Kensington lock and the somewhat bulky (but slim compared to other) power supply that would be nice to have.

Works fine on my MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard.

Pros: Inexpensive ($140). Fast enough (1B transfer/minute). Silent. Small (4.5x7.1.25"). Runs cool. Turns itself off when disconnected from computer. No frilly software to get in the way. Reasonably small transformer plug brick (1.5" wide).
Cons: No physical on/off switch (but turns itself off when disconnected from computer).

Summary: Reviews on other sites critical of things I had no problems with. Perhaps I got a newer model (if so, maybe WD paid attention to criticisms), but I have no complaints so far. USB cord is 4' long - enough to locate the HD on my desktop (since it's small & quiet). On/off light is on the " back" of the unit, next to the power & USB outlets - makes sense, since there's nothing on the "front" of the unit to look at anyway. No feet to suggest vertical operation (don't know if it will), but this is okay - I put my external DVD burners on top of it.
