This TV kicks booty and didnt cost as much booty either
by scdaluz on May 12, 2010
Pros: The TV has EXCELLENT picture and sound quality, its very light weight, it also has quite a few settings that help enhance the quality to your individual standards after Shopping around for TVs this has turned out to be the best affordable TV we found
Cons: It lacks the WIFI and latest technology features that newer model TVs have however, if you connect it to an LG BD Theater system that has those features, its ok, cuz you dont need BOTH to have the same features, only one :)

Summary: This TV by far is the nicest TV I have ever purchased... I was a little skeptical when I was seeing LG TV for so cheap, but when I looked at the TVs on the wall where I was shopping, for some reason the LG seemed to have the best picture quality out of all of them... So I packaged one up and brought it home... Upon opening the box, we had a scare because we thought we were missing a part, but it was just hidden under the Styrofoam packing, the TV is well packaged and safe for transport. We set up the TV on a stand though its light weight would make it easy to wall mount. Watching the TV is beautiful, its more than we ever could have expected... I would tell ANY of my friends to buy this TV... This is better than my TV which is in my bedroom quality wise... and crazy as this may sound my bedroom TV is an LED!!!! its just got crisper picture than my LED and its sound is so much more impressive. All in all, I think I will be replacing my TV in my bedroom with an LG as well... I think they have the market here :)

Summary: Bottom line is this is a great screen for the price. I went into the store with the intentions of buying a Samsung 40" LN40C550. The Samsung has better specs on paper, higher contrast ratio and 120hz refresh rate, but the LG had a better picture. Not only did the LG look better, it was $10 cheaper. Not that $10 matters, but it was cheaper for th 47" vs the 40" and the 47" had a better picture. The only screen I saw in the store with a better picture than this one was the LG42". Looking at it side by side with this screen, you could see a very small difference in the picture quality between the 2. The 42" appeared to be a little more sharp thought not by much. The 42" was the same price as the Samsung 40" I went in to buy. Also to make note, all screen comparrisons were made with Avatar playing on a Samsung Blu-Ray player which I also bought. The difference in picture quality will be even less noticeable with standard DVD and probably not noticeable at all with cable seeing how nothing is broadcast above 1080i or 60hz. I made the decision to sacrifice a little picture quality to get a larger screen and have no regrets at all. At $799, this screen was a no brainer.
