Cons: picture quality not there connectors can be a challenge, if hanging on wall changing picture options makes minimal picture difference

Summary: I'm not a tech expert by any means, but I know when a TV picture looks good, and this one falls short of expectations. It was bought just before Thanksgiving, as a Christmas gift from my mother, and had been sitting in mom's basement just waiting for Christmas day. Since I knew we were getting it, I prepared the living room wall ahead of time with all the wiring and receptacle plates etc,so it(and a blu Ray,Wii,and cable box)could go right up. I did recently read some reviews of this model, which were not encouraging but, I hoped for the best anyway. Well, I must say that the other reviewers were right about the picture quality. It's really just not very impressive. Even on HD channels, it just looks a little blurry. I did try adjusting the picture controls, but nothing really improved it. I have a friend that has a Samsung HDTV, a few years old, and the picture is really good on most all channels. My family thinks it looks fine, but I know LED televisions are capable of much nicer graphics. I would not recomend this TV, as there are many others to choose from in the same size and price range. Read reviews before you buy! No TV seems to get 5 stars, but you can definitely see trends, positive or negative on specific products.
Pros: Like the size and the simple remote control. Picture is sharp and colors seem true.
Cons: Not a lot of black contrast.

Summary: I bought this TV to replace my 46" Samsung which is now in the bedroom. The reason I wanted this one is the reviews I read said that with a little tweaking the blacks can be improved. I did just that and added some LED back lighting and it looks great. I really like the larger screen for movie viewing. And with a good surround system your in the theater with out the hassle. Good TV for the price.
Pros: Great Size to price. Good quality video, and more pixels than an average hdtv. Where a lot of HDTV's have part of a picture cut off at the edges, and sides, this one has excess pixels, the entire picture is in and viewable!
Cons: Have to adjust the picture manually to get best results, found ideal settings online, posted on cnet.
Summary: Great value for a 55" LG HDTV, would buy another if needed!
