Panasonic Viera TC-P58VT25 price range: $2,198.00

The good: Superior black-level performance and excellent shadow detail; accurate primary colors in THX mode; great color saturation; effective antireflective screen; reproduces 1080p/24 cadence properly; VieraCast provides access to select Internet services and improved customization; solid 3D picture quality; includes 3D glasses.
The bad: Relatively expensive; last year's Panasonic plasmas lost black-level performance over relatively short periods of time; non-adjustable grayscale in THX mode; some artifacts in 1080p/24 mode; fewer streaming services and apps than the competition; uses more power than LCDs and newer plasmas.
The bottom line: With both 2D and 3D sources, Panasonic's flagship TC-PVT20/25 series plasma TV delivers outstanding overall picture quality.

Summary: People buy tv's for their picture quality, and this is currently your best option (unless you go buy a KURO off ebay). When shopping we were actually considering the Samsung 7000 series plasma because of price and positive review. In the store, after looking at the different sets, the Pani clearly had the best picture of any plasma, LCD, LED's, etc.
We have had it for a couple weeks now, hooked up to Uverse, and couldn't be more pleased. The picture detail is absolutely amazing! We also bought a couple Vizio 42XVT3 sets after seeing the positive review on Cnet for a couple other rooms. Played with the pic settings to get it as close to the Pani as possible, and it looks really great, but you still just don't get the same level of detail.
I will say this for darker/home theater rooms go with the Pani, but if you have a bright room I would suggest going with a Vizio XVT3. With the Matte finish definitely has better bright room performance.
As for the con, the set is in a small room with terrible sound issues, and I am assuming the buzzing sound is the cooling fan, that is being magnified by the room itself. An obsticle that must be overcome in itself.3 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

by HiDefRev on July 15, 2010
Pros: Unbeatable black levels, awesome colors, great anti-glare coating, fantastic 3D performance.
Cons: There are no cons.
Summary: I have yet to see any new HDTV that can come close to the Panasonic VT25 series. It's simply the best HDTV made.

EXECELLENT PICTURE- BLACK COLOR IS DEEP- Best Plasma
by vanhal69 on January 16, 2011
Pros: This picture is like no other. The 3D picture is suerb! WOW. The BCS National Championship was litterally in my living room. You just cant get a better PLASMA and not worry if its 120/240 refresher rate when plasma 600! & HD picture is superior. AAA+
Cons: It gets warm.. Power consuming but well worth it... Panasonic's top quality 3D tv... you get what you pay for.

Summary: Best ever. Quality is what you get. 100% best picture for a Plasma. Plasma has improved 10 fold since its inception. If you purchase a flat screen tv thats no 3D you are purchasing absolete equipment. This Panasonic Vierap58VT25 makes everything look good, from VHS to home movies to blu ray and 3D. The features are easy and simple with its user friendly menu of options. The connections needed to run anything is available. The manual was easy to read and more so easy to understand. Make no mistake, this model is the best on the market if your looking for a tv that you dont plan to change in 10 years.

The Pani TC-P58VT25 shocked and amazed me in the store
by diveinstruct on January 4, 2011
Pros: Outstanding deep blacks, tremendous definition, 3D is wonderful to watch, easy remote to understand.
Cons: NONE, I repeat none and am very happy that Santa brought it to me for Christmas

Summary: While reviewing a football game of the Panasonic against the Samsung at the store, you could see true comparison between the TV's. I was pointed to the crowed in the background and you could actually detect the people in the crowed. While the Samsung, yes you could see the crowed, but it was more blurred, not as well defined as the Panisonic. The features that the Panasonic had compared to the Samsung became the bottom line for me. When I brought it home, and after the initial set-up for the Black Levels it feels as though I am looking through a window at a real Person. I watched Monster Inc. and his fur seemed as though I could just simply reach out and touch something real. I am overly pleased with the performance and happy that I finally have a TV that I want.

by Jefftech on October 4, 2011
Pros: Beautiful deep artifact free picture, no cartoon like colours, 3D is beyond anything I've seen to date.
Best bang for your $$$ at this point.Cons: Heavy, bezel could be slimmer, sound is average but who needs it anyway.
Summary: If you want one of the the best 2D plus 3D tvs anywhere, get it now before they disappear as the new VT30's are out. You will not be ...

TV lasted maybe 30 minutes, blinking red light syndrome
by LottaTidbits on November 19, 2010
Pros: Great picture
Cons: TV went dead in just 30 minutes or less. 3 hrs to p/u and 3 hrs home, unpacked , set up, watching 3D movie, everything went black. Red power light blinks 7 times, goes off and repeats. Cannot get ANY function to work. Sucks!
Summary: Called Panasonic and all they will do is send repairman, not replace set.

DOA - Out of the box dead!
by hammer1962 on November 26, 2010
Pros: Nice looking
Huge screen
My other Panasonic has grat image qualityCons: DOA - I took it out of the box, hooked it up - and nothing but buzzing and no video for about 5 mimutes. Then it went completely silent and the red power LED blinks 7 times, pauses, then repeats.
I paid over $3,4000 for a 65 inch and it's DOA!Summary: I will exchange it at the retailer and hope the next one is not a lemon.
