Panasonic Viera TC-P65S2 price range: $3,525.32

The good: Relatively inexpensive; decent black-level performance; solid grayscale accuracy; fingerprint-resistant finish; energy-efficient for a plasma.
The bad: Inaccurate primary colors and gamma; subpar bright-room quality; last year's Panasonic plasmas lost black-level performance over relatively short periods of time; sparse picture controls; uses significantly more power than LCDs.
The bottom line: Though it's not without its performance gaffes, the midrange Panasonic TC-PS2 series of plasma TVs still offers very good image quality for the price.

Worst product ever purchased
by Kyframer on August 24, 2011
Pros: Cheap price is the only pro but every cent that I spent on this product was a waste of money
Cons: Terrible customer support less than 8 months old first one went bad after 6 weeks best buy replaced set 4 months later same problem service has come out twice changed boards both times no resolution. The only reason I'm writing this is to possibly save so
Summary: Total waste of money do not buy get another product please take my warning this company is a total joke all the way to the customer non service

Great value for the money
by Rootmann on September 22, 2010
Pros: Huge size, very natural/true colors, black blacks, easy to set up and use if you're not a tech geek, no motion blur like on many LCD's. Off angle viewing is great. No reflection problems in my very sunny room. Just plain easy to watch for hours.
Cons: No PIP which I don't understand in a TV of this caliber. No internet connection. Very heavy, but then it's a glass plasma. No swivel stand, which would be useful. Speakers are avg but who doesn't have a surround system with a TV like this?
Summary: A great buy for the money. VT25 might be a lot better, but for $2000 more? We watch lots of sports(football, baseball, golf, hockey) and movies in our house ...
Summary: A great buy for the money. VT25 might be a lot better, but for $2000 more? We watch lots of sports(football, baseball, golf, hockey) and movies in our house and this is great for both of those. I thought long and hard about buying the VT25, but there just wasn't enough 3D content out yet. We've had the set since the week Panasonic released it and we couldn't be happier. We also have a number of different HD sets of all varieties(LCD/LED/Plasma) and this one is right up there. You don't get fatigued when you watch it for hours on end during football or movie marathons from oversaturated colors, or brightness like can happen with a lot of LCD's even when adjusted. I would've liked more calibration setting availability. Had I designed it I also would've made the frame just a wee bit smaller, although it does help frame the picture and help contrast levels when viewing dark movies, we've noticed.
For this kind of money, I think you'll be hard pressed to find a better value in a 65 incher with the picture you see here. It's a buy for under $2K........
Highly recommended.....1 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Only had this t v for 15 months.
by VincentDZ on May 26, 2012
Pros: Big screen, fair picture quality.
Cons: Poor overall quality, only had it 15 months .... already having it shut down. 7 Flash board codes. Really ? If this is the best Panasonic has, I 'll never give them a second glance.
Summary: Steer clear of this one. Panasonic knew there were internal issues with this Viera, yet they will do nothing about them. Google it, and you'll see what I mean.

Great TV for the money.
by RedrockerZ on October 22, 2011
Pros: Good compatibility with various brands of electronics. Such as, an Onkyo receiver, in which I can run all my sources, Bose & JBL speakers, Comcast receiver, Panasonic blu ray. Also runs well for gaming devises, such as XBox 360, and PS3. Great picture
Cons: Well, this one is a no brainer, it does take some room, but hey, it's a 65" TV. I have plenty of room for it, but if you don't, I'd suggest the TC-P58PS2.

Summary: All in all, it has been worth the $1700 price I paid for it. As with most items involved in technology, the price should go down a little bit, with time. But, I doubt if it will be enough to make the difference in waiting 6 months to a year. Thumbs up to Panasonic on this one.
