Although CNET did not review the 23-inch Samsung LN-T2353H, we did review the 32-inch Samsung LN-T3253H. Judging from their spec sheets, the two Samsung flat-panel LCD HDTVs are similar but for screen size, contrast ratio, and number of inputs (the 32-incher adds a third HDMI jack and a USB port to the side panel), so we expect the picture quality of the 32-inch model to provide a good indication of how the 23-incher will perform (although with a lower contrast ratio, this model may have inferior black-level performance). For more information, refer to the full review of the Samsung LN-T3253H. For additional details on Samsung's mainstream 2007 flat-panel LCD HDTVs, click here.
Intro:
The Samsung LN-T2353H is a 23-inch, liquid crystal display television.Compared to other liquid crystal display TVs on the market, it is very inexpensive at around $590.This unit is an LCD display, which is generally the best kind of flat-panel screen for viewing in brightly-lit rooms.
Noteworthy Features:
This TV supports Picture-In-Picture, when connected to a DVR.This set can display images that are sharper and more realistic than analog television when connected to a high definition signal. The 3:2 pulldown feature of this unit reduces artifacts that can occur when motion pictures are transferred to a digital format such as DVD.
Weaker Features:
Has only a 23-inch screen size. This is not out of line with the product's price, but is smaller than the average TV on the market today.Has only a rear connector location.
Suitability:
A liquid crystal display TV, suited for home entertainment as well as work place applications. In general, a wide aspect display such as this one is well suited for DVD movies recorded in the popular 16:9 format, as well as high definition programming.
Value:
Given its very inexpensive price, this TV has great features for the money.

Tuner options:
An HDTV-ready satellite or cable box will act as an outboard HDTV tuner for your digital TV set that lacks a built-in HD tuner.
9 out of 10 - Spectacular Great 23in HDTV for a small room

Best Buy had a special on the 2353H and I bought it for my younger sister since she watches TV on a tiny 8 inch tube and it angers me everytime I see her watching shows in it. I could've gotten a larger HDTV for a slightly higher price but Samsung has a good LCD picture quality plus the viewing distance is short. Unfortunately the local Best Buy didn't have it in stock so I had them ordered me one which took about a week. The TV stand is not attached so very minor assembly is required. I hooked up a Toshiba HD-A3 HD-DVD player to it via HDMI and calibrated the screen and I was done. She was really surprised to see a new HDTV in her room.
The black bezel frame of the Samsung matches her room as well as the HD-DVD player. Picture quality on standard channels are ok but the HDTV stations just blows them away. The remote is easy to use and even lights up if its too dark in the room. There is a wide range of video/audio settings for a HDTV this size. The sound is just right...no need to crank it up. Downside is that the viewing angle is so-so.

This tv is the perfect introduction to HDTV. I preferred Samsung displays to sharp and sony in side-by-side comparisons. Picture is much better than any of the bargain brand TV's, including Olevia. Rather than getting a larger screen size from a no-name brand, go for this. It's a gem. Pair it with the budget-priced ($103) samsung upconverting DVD player (Model # SAM DVD1080P7) and the quality of standard-def DVD's is phenomenal. I can't afford cable TV, but with this TV's built in digital and analog tuners, I was able to receive over 100 digital and HD TV stations that were there for the taking in my high-speed cable-internet signal! As many others had reported, I am also able to watch all the pay-per-view movies that my neighbors are watching (although the randomness of the channel assignments for PPV makes it mostly good only for channel surfing and not for any planned viewing.) I can't say enough good things about this TV. It has tons of inputs, including 2 HDMI ports and a VGA port for your PC or laptop. Even if I had been able to spend $1500 - $2000 on an HDTV, I would still have sticked with Samsung and just gotten the 1080p 42" model in this same line. I'm so glad I went with this smaller samsung model rather than choosing a larger screen size from one of the no-name makers. The piano black finish is gorgeous and the flat, touch-sensitive buttons on the side are great, too. If you're on a budget, just go for this, the upconverting DVD player listed above, and the cheapest HDMI cable you can find online or in the store. You won't be sorry!
