The good: Reproduced relatively deep black levels; mostly accurate color in bright areas; solid video processing with proper handling of 1080p/24 sources; matte screen works well in bright lighting (40- and 46-inch models only); numerous picture adjustment options; streams video via USB and DLNA; classy styling.
The bad: Subpar shadow detail; dark areas tinged somewhat blue; benefits of 120Hz difficult to discern.
The bottom line: Solid image quality and features as well as sleek looks make Samsung's mainstream LNC630 LCD an affordable alternative to LED TVs.

Amazing picture quality

Summary: I've had two 46" Samsung LCDs before this and have always been happy with them. I was looking for a larger screen size than a 55" but when I saw this tv in the store, and for under $1500, I could not pass it up.
When I connected the tv (I have FIOS) and turned on the first HD program I was in shock. The HD on my 46" Samsung (probably between 2 and 3 years old now) has always looked good but I had no idea how much the newer technology made a difference.
The 46" HD looks very good but there is no comparison to the LN55c630. The HD on this set looks truly amazing. If I did not know any better I would swear I was watching a 3d tv minus the glasses. The characters in the shows look like they are in the room with me. There is a sense of depth that I simply never seen before on any other tv. If I had one word to describe it I would use stunning.
I just received my surround sound equipment today and look forward to having my first "movie night" and Rock Band party with the new system.
Great tv, if you have not seen true HD on a newer set lately this will blow you away (plus it was cheap!).3 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

i buy one ,after 6 week the tv broke

Pros: i was realy satisfied but when my tv broke after 6 week bad service
Cons: my tv broke after 6 week ,service at samsung was very low and when you calla at samsung they told you a lap of time for the call of tech ,they dont respect the delay hey give to you

Beautiful Picture !!!

Pros: The clarity of the picture. Deep Deep Blacks, depth of picture almost looks 3D !!!!!
Cons: Was hard to set up and get a top level picture at first an amazing array of controls to adjust.

Looks great on and off

Pros: Outstanding picture. So good it is sometimes distracting. Blue-rays may seem a little "unnatural". Some may prefer plasma for this reason, but there is a movie mode which helps this. Overall I prefer this pic vs. plasma I tried. Styling is a plus.
Cons: For some reason I find the menu to be a little difficult to navigate. But I am nit-picking.

Notorious Backlight / Screen Flickering after 1.5 years

Pros: When it works Samsung has Best Picture qualtiy
Cons: Samsung buys cheap components from China to assemble many portions of the TV. Backllight, power supplies, and capacitors have a high potential of going out in 1 to 2 years.

Summary: Research online before you buy. Samsung has a problem with Screen strobing/flickering. My set is 1.5 years old and began to have a backlight flicker. Once this happens you cannot watch the TV and it must be repaired. I talked to a sales person at Best Buy and was told many sets are returned with this problem. When you call Samsung they claim to not have heard about this problem and will not help you if you are out of warranty. TV's should last longer than 1.5 years. I will say that when it works, Samsung has the best picture quality.
