Summary: Let me start by saying that everyone of these 5 star reviews are on point! I've had the pleasure of owning this gem for about 3 months now, and let me say the picture is beautiful. I bought this tv to replace my 73737 Mitsubishi 73" DLP 120hz hdtv. My wife was kind of upset that I would sale a tv that I have had for hardly a year, not to mention giving up 13" of screen for our home media room. I did allot of research on the new flat screen tv's 60"s and up and had pretty much decided on the Panasonic v25 65" plasma, or a Samsung , Sony, or LG lcd\led close to the same size. When I happen to run up on a discussion on a forum about lcd tv's for 2010. I have never been a fan of Sharp tv's. I have owned Panasonic, and Mitsubishi hdtv's and loved them. I would go in the local tv and hometheater stores and see these flat screen tv's on display and the picture looked more detailed and defined than my 73"DLP. I saw that EastCoast tv's had this tv for $1600.00 and I jumped on it. I received my tv about a week later and I have been a happy camper every since. My first test to see the difference in picture quality was of course AVATAR, all I could say was WOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!! True motion is the bomb! My friends and family come to my media \theater room and all I see is jaw's dropping when I put a blu-ray in or turn on a football game they ask me is this tv 3D I laugh and say no. Take from some one who is a video and audiophile buy this tv you want be disappointed. I looked at it in the Magnolia store in Wheaton Md. next to the $3000 to $5000 led 3D tv's and she was holding her own and cost less than half of those 55" set's.

Summary: I was looking to upgrade from my 50" Sony rear projection LCD. In November I bought a highly rated LG PX-950 plasma. After 2 months of fiddling around with it, I finally returned it and bought the Sharp LCD. Best move I ever made. Picture quality is far superior plus I saved $700. I would have made the switch even if the price was the same. Colors are brighter, whites are whiter but not blown out and with a good amount of highlight detail. The blacks are excellent, deep as well as detailed. The CCFL backlighting is excellent. No need for LED here. Unless you want an ultra thin set or can afford a fully back lit set, don't bother with LED. The wide gamut CCFL bulbs have a more accurate color rendering index than LED. Buy this set while they are still available!
