The good: The Sharp LC-70LE73U is bigger than just about any other mainstream flat-panel TV, and a strong overall value. It delivers solid picture quality, with better screen uniformity than an edge-lit LED-based LCD, while its matte screen and high potential light output make its bright-room picture quality superior to that of a large plasma. It comes with excellent help and support options and built-in Wi-Fi, and consumes less power than plasma models.
The bad: This 70-inch LED-based LCD is too large to fit in many living rooms and too expensive for most buyers' TV budgets. Its black levels, uniformity, and off-angle picture quality aren't as good as those of many large-screen plasmas. Its separate interfaces for apps and widgets can be confusing and its exterior styling is somewhat generic.
The bottom line: For people craving a colossal flat-screen TV who don't want a plasma or a projector, the 70-inch Sharp LC-70LE73U series LED-based LCD offers very good picture quality, especially in bright rooms.
Pros: Huge 70" screen LCD/LED has no burn-in issues Excellent picture quality Pretty slim for it's overall size
Cons: Non-HiDef programming doesn't look that great, but it's because the screen is so big. HiDef programming looks amazing!

Summary: I bought this set about a month ago from Fry's electronics (California). I'm really digging the picture quality, and this screen is so big that people on screen almost look lifelike! It's like looking thru a window, big, bright and clear picture. It lacks 3D capability, but honestly 3D doesn't really interest me, too many drawbacks (ie. bulky glasses that have to be recharged, very limited programming, etc). If you're looking for a huge screen that will amaze your friends, get this set! It's also available at Costco warehouses, under a slightly different model number, but it's the same tv.
Description:With the introduction of the 70" class (69.5" Diagonal) LC-70LE734U, Sharp once again reinforces its leadership in LCD and LED technology. Sharp's proprietary quad pixel technology adds a fourth color, yellow, to the traditional RGB pixel format, enabling many colors to be displayed for the first time. Featuring more colors than any other television, see never-before-seen colors like sparkling golds, Caribbean blues and sunflower yellows. On the LC-70LE734U, this technology is enhanced further with Quad Pixel Plus, which produces smoother lines by enabling the individual control of all 8-million sub-pixels on the screen. The proprietary AQUOS LED system comprised of the X-Gen LCD panel and UltraBrilliant LED enables an incredible dynamic contrast ratio for excellent picture quality. AquoMotion 240 virtually eliminates blur and motion artifacts in fast-moving video. The LC-70LE734U features connected TV services, including the addition of Vudu apps, Netflix streaming video, CinemaNow capability, along with the industry's leading online support system, AQUOS Advantage Live. And, with built-in WiFi, connectivity is easier than ever. Dual USB media players for portable video/music player are also included for your convenience.
