Fantastic set for $1800, very pleased with the purchase
by normanjsmith on June 9, 2009
Pros: Fantastic ability to handle all lighting situations. No reflections or glare as I have experienced on other sets. Sporting events are absolutely awesome. Fine motion and 120 hz allows me to see things I have never seen before.
Cons: None so far.

Summary: I'm still sorting out all of the different features. So far all of the programming options are a breeze to change. The ability to alter the video mode on the fly from the remote is quick and easy so you adjust the viewing preference as your programs change wether its a movie, educational program, or sporting event. The detail and clarity of the Nascar races is fantastic. Even old TV programs look fantastic and I now notice things in those programs that I never saw before and I had upgraded from a 42" rear projection Mitsubishi Medallion that I thought was real good. The Sharp LC-52E77U is an absolutely fantastic set that is well worth the purchase price of $1800 at Sears.

Love this tv!
by LifesAll0ver on September 16, 2009
Pros: -Blacks look great.
-HD and SD sources look wonderful. There have been times where I had to double check if it was an HD signal while watching SD.
-Fast response time and no burn in. I've always been a plasma fan, but this tv won me over.Cons: -Sound is less than stellar. I'd recommend a nice home theater system. That's what I have.
-Bezel and screen scratches easy. Be really careful when mounting it or placing it on it's stand.
-Turn of Film mode and OPC. They are both bothersome.Summary: You'll really love this tv. Honestly I've gone through many different types of tvs. I really didn't think I would find one I'd like. Because I ...
Summary: You'll really love this tv. Honestly I've gone through many different types of tvs. I really didn't think I would find one I'd like. Because I am really picky, but also because I use it for a variety of things. (Movies, tv, computer screen, and lots of gaming.) As I've said I'm a huge plasma tv fan. Still am, but this just managed to win me over. I needed a tv that would be able to tolerate my gaming habits with out burning in. I loved watching movies on my old plasma. Blacks looked better, motion was better, and colors looked more natural, but I was always scared of playing games as much as I liked to because of burn in. With this tv. I don't have to worry about blurring, low response times, or ghosting like I did with most lcds. Also sharp makes the only LCDs I've seen that don't have flashlighting. Something I hate about lcds. You can also rest easy about Sharp's customer care because it's great. The tv is easy to use. And as long as you calibrate it right. You'll have an amazing looking picture. It's at a great price too. You really can't go wrong.

Mid Level TV with High end Looks. Superb Picture!
by FastAssCrass on March 22, 2010
Pros: Looks Beautiful on the wall, Sounds good, picture is surreal w/ Sony PS3
Cons: How easy the finish scratches even with a "Monster" Dry Rag
Summary: I traded my LC-52D64 in for this model. I'm way happier with the picture with HD cable, Xbox 360, PS3 and the computer. Extra HDMI's are cool too! ...

Summary: I LOVE my new TV! Got it a couple of days ago. Made the big mistake of using coax cables vs HDMI when we first got it. HDMI made all the difference! Looks great and haven't had any problems. The picture is crisp and sound got better once we plugged in the HDMI. Just make sure you play with the sound settings in the menu. I have NO complaints about this product. We bought it from QVC for $999 on Today's Special Value. With tax and shipping it came to $1139. They now have it listed $1170 plus $76 s & h. Still a great buy!

Ecellent Value and Picture
by asmithba on August 25, 2009
Pros: Price, Picture clarity, brightness, color. Five HDMI ports ensure that everything plugs into it. Works great with the Sharp BD-22U.
Cons: I did not buy this set sooner.
Summary: Buy this TV with the Blue Ray player before Football Season Starts. Pre-season games has mad this set worth every penny. Did I say the price was $1,499?

Nice big clear HDTV - BUT get the lip in sync
by gqwerty on August 23, 2009
Pros: Picture quality is SHARP, crystal clear and HDTV is now addicting. Even the commercials are worth watching now.
Cons: Lip sync, the DVD audio connected via component is sometimes half a second ahead of video. Watching certain hdtv channels I was getting delays as well. However a call to directv and a few days they corrected this. They say they did nothing, hmm.
Summary: The Menu is great, the input selector needs to allow for on screen rearranging and labeling of inputs used, it can be a pain to flip down through 6 or ...
Summary: The Menu is great, the input selector needs to allow for on screen rearranging and labeling of inputs used, it can be a pain to flip down through 6 or 7 inputs to change device inputs, the change in the screen formatting is awsome and love it, did I mention the picture is flawless, I like the auto dim feature based on room light, the case is a nice piano black, the stand is not ugly, the inputs are accesible, the on tv buttons are smartly located on the side and easily accesible, the sound quality for a tv is great. Did I mention the picture? It is flawless.
I have a note in with Sharp, If the componet input lip-sync is not corrected asap I will exchange for a better tv if there is such a thing.
