The good: The gigantic, 80-inch Sharp LC-80LE632U is a mightily impressive television in the flesh, and it will instantly inspire envy in all who view it. The TV comes with a decent mix of features and handsome styling, and its matte screen improves the picture in bright rooms.
The bad: The picture quality is underwhelming for the price you pay: lighter black levels and rosy reds mean it can't even keep up with cheaper (and inevitably smaller) LCD and plasma TVs. You'll need a really big room to put this in, with at least 10 feet of distance between the TV and the seating position. The screen is so large that most of the TV is off-axis to the viewer even at this distance. At this price we expect 3D compatibility, too.
The bottom line: If you're just looking to wow your friends or fill a wall, then the 80-inch Sharp LC-80LE632U is one of the best TVs you can buy, but ho-hum picture quality makes it a questionable value.

Pros: It's big....and really, really expensive.
Cons: It has a crappy picture...which means it's NOT worth the money! 3 out of 5 stars when you admit is has a crappy picture....it's a TV, if the picture is crappy it should receive 1 out of 5....explains why most people only come here for the pictures!

This is what you wrote on your front page, "If you're looking to wow your friends or fill a wall, then the 80-inch Sharp LC-80LE632U is one of the best TVs you can buy", but then followed it immediately with, "but ho-hum picture quality makes it a questionable value." Really? So basically, ho-hum picture quality, which is THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF A TV, makes it "one of the best TV's you can buy." Do you guys even realize how dumb most of your reviews have become? You need to expand your ratings from 5 to 10 stars, realize most people do not want and can not afford a TV over 1K, and stop kissing the industry's butt and tell the truth about the products you review.

-You can brag about it
That's about it...Cons: -Uses 1080p technology....
-Much heavier than a plasma, which is sad for an LCD panel
-Inaccurate colors

Summary: Has it even occured to the TV manufacturers that they should be using high-density LCD panels like the ones in our computer monitors??? Our 27" monitors for sale today have around 2560x1440,although with a hefty price tag... But for an average price of $5,000, this TV could include a high-density display with a ridiculously high resolution.
I really believe that it is time to stop focusing on 3D, it came and went in the 50s and 60s, it came back briefly in the late 1990s and out again in the early 2000s... 3D is quite simply, a phase... And since companies are focusing more on 3D than a higher resolution set, everyone is scared to release anything higher than 1080p because nothing other than PCs broadcast or produce a signal with such resolution, meaning that the TV will have to dramatically stretch the image, or have a large loss of usable screen space if the image were displayed pixel per pixel...
So, simply put, 1080p is extremely dated, and the TV industry definitely needs a revamp the the resolution department.2 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

Pros: 1) Great black color - The blacks are as BLACK as anything I have seen out there. CNET, did you really see this TV before writing your review???

4) Very low motion blur (I'm a sports nut). I'm loving it!Cons: 1) Sorta difficult to get setup correct.I finally went online and found pro settings and I started there.

The TV must be set up and not reviewed at BestBuy's or Costco (or worse, sight unseen). This TV has PERFECT black dark colors, I mean BLACK so I'm not sure where the CNET reviewer is coming from.
As for the comment about it so heavy you'll need help carrying it, are you kidding me, it's 84" wide. CNET, did you expect to hang it by yourself if it was lighter? Duh, its an LCD.
The PQ when the source is good is the sharpest and most real I have seen when comparing to others including my 65" Sony XBR. The quality from a good HD source is truly amazing. Really, CHECK IT OUT, you'll see.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Pros: Screen Size ...I really love the Picture quality ...HD feels like you are on set....i have had quite a few LED(s) Samsung LG etc..looking at the device in Store it was okay...took it home plugged it up MAGIC
Cons: The setup process was cumbersome....the Processor moved a bit slowly at first running through the setup then again i have Apple Tv ,Xbox, Nintendo Wi ,Cable Set Top box , internet connectivity...After it was all said and Done i am happy

Great TV Except for...

Pros: Good color, lots of inputs, Logical function, easy to navigate, 3D seems better than my 60" Sony, 3D sound quite realistic, at just under 120 pound, it can still be mounted on the wall.
Cons: Viewing angle is the worst in the LED/LCD TV class. if you are only 10 degrees off the center in any directions, the color begin to wash out and black becomes gray. The further you are from the center, the worst it becomes.

I have owned many other LED/LCD TV's and even the lowly Target branded "Element" has better color and much wider viewing angle. I also owned Sony EX 60", LG 47", Sony XBR 60", Samsung 50", Westinghouse 32". Toshiba 72" and Sylvania 22" so I have lots to compare with.

Pros: It is huge and has a great picture. The size of this TV when viewed from 12 foot is just perfect. When properly calibrated (not the way you will probably see it at the store) the picure is absolutely stunning.
Cons: The price is high but worth it. I know it doesn't have 3D, but it didn't matter to me as I rather hate 3D. Even theater 3D gives me a headache. The standard speakers are a bit weak, but are kind of standard for TV speakers.

It does require some calibration and turning off some of the picture enhancers, but it can be tuned to deliver excellent color. It probably won't be calibrated correctly at a store, so it might not look great there. The black levels are close to the absolute best I have ever seen. The black levels in scenes can make it so there is no differentiation between the surrounding bezel and the screen. For some reason the black bars on movies are a bit lighter than the black it will deliver in an actual scene. I have a high end Panasonic 58" plasma that has way worse black levels and CNET raved about its black levels. Another great thing is the matt screen doesn't have as much reflection of light, yet doesn't diminish the picture at night. I typically watch movies and scripted TV shows. I can't vouch for sports or game use. If you can afford it and have a large space, buy it. Paid $3,797 plus tax with a price match done for another local dealer at my local Best Buy. Didn't trust getting something this big online.
