The good: The Sony HX750 offers excellent color accuracy for an LCD and will give a decent picture without too much calibration. The feature count is one of the highest of any Sony TV this year. Styling is subdued but elegant, and it's not all about looks, because it's also easy to use.
The bad: The overall picture quality is hampered by light black levels. No 3D glasses are included, which is disappointing for a high-level TV. Compared with the stiff competition, this Sony is too expensive for what you get.
The bottom line: The Sony HX750 series isn't the headliner that you'd expect it to be with a performance that isn't up to the level of the asking price.
Pros: Beautiful PQ, Deep Blacks, Dynamic Edge LED, 3D Ready, Apps and widgets galore,Beautiful Design, Simply the best LED HDTV made by Sony yet.
Cons: None. The reports on some websites that this tv suffers from clouding or light bleeding dont apply at least not to my tv!

Summary: First for Cnet to be compareing this HDTV in their video to Panasonics Plasma's is just not fair because everyone knows that plasma tv's produce blacks that cant be beat...by ANY HDTV! But what the HX750 does do is give you excellent PQ and blacks that will satisfy any HT enthusiast. I am very nitpicky when it comes to PQ and blacks and I will say this HDTV out does my expectations. You want widgets and apps? It has it. You want excellent 3D? This tv delievers one of the best 3D experiences you could ever ask for. To sum it up this way: This is one of the best HDTV's yet made by Sony. And no matter what CNET may say it IS worth the money and then some. Buy it because you wont regret it...not by a long shot.
Pros: The ST50 is a PLASMA unit and usually are 30 percent cheaper and have better dark contrast. The ST50 is a hotter runner and 2 1/2 thicker.
I have an older SONYs (LED) & Panasonic's Plasma, both run well, I would not put the Plasma in the Sun room
Cons: I would have liked to have learned how much of an improvement the 750 is over the older EX700 with regard to the picture and the 240HZ but no info there.
Summary: I was looking like crazy for a good deal on these black Friday and there were a few on different sites so I went for this TV.
I have to say I do respect Ty Pendlebury's opinion However as an owner of one of these TV's I really cannot see nothing wrong with it, I love the colors and can't tell about the low on the black levels he talked about, and the price well I just paid 999.98 with free 2 day shipping so I really think it worth it!
Description:Vivid picture quality, a slim design and access to entertainment way beyond cable merge in the exquisite HX750 series HDTVs. Sony's exclusive X-Reality engine takes picture quality to the next level by bringing astonishing color and detail to life for a strikingly more realistic picture. Motionflow XR 480 greatly reduces blur for action so clear, you might think you're watching it live. Plus, harness the power of built-in Wi-Fi to access the best selection of online entertainment. Take a glimpse into reality with a picture so lifelike, you won't believe it's TV. Skin tones, landscape foliage and countless details come alive as Sony's exclusive X-Reality engine displays realistic images. The processor optimizes four key characteristics - texture, outline, contrast and color - so each scene looks wonderfully authentic. It's all about perfecting a natural look. Dynamic edge LED backlighting with frame dimming delivers pitch-black night scenes and illuminates bright scenes so they pop with vibrant color - all in a slimmer, more attractive design. Rather than illuminating the entire screen, lighting is boosted in just the right areas for greater contrast and a more realistic picture. Watch the dirt bike launch through the air with reduced blurring in sight, even as the camera pans to follow its movement across the track. Quick motion seen in action movies appears amazingly realistic as Motionflow XR 480 doubles the motion effect for lifelike clarity - so you see all the action from your games and movies more clearly.
