  A Great Bargain!

  Pros: Picture is perfect
  Sound is not bad

  Updates frequently through google

  Summary: After reviewing several sets in this price range, and returning a different brand, I decided to try this one and have no regrets. The picture is perfect. Some of the things I am happy with:
  
  Remote, takes a little getting used to but the keyboard is great! Has a built in mouse too!
  
  Connectivity, awesome! I searched high and low for info on how it would interact with my PC (via WIFI on my home network) and I am not disappointed. It will access movies, pictures and music directly from your hard drive. So I can watch pretty much any format of movie right from my PC (I really use this feature a lot).
  
  Sound is not bad for the size speakers it has.
  
  Internet access, well it's Google Chrome. Have to get used to that browser, but it's like having a 32" computer monitor from your bed, Facebook etc. Only negative would be lack of flash explained below in the negatives.
  
  Interaction with my cable box. You tell it what cable you use and it interacts with your cable box with ease and also knows whats on and when.
  
  APPS, well more are coming from what I hear as soon as Google gets their act together and upgrades the version of Android, but what is there now is pretty good. For example, Netflix.
  
  Now for the not so good, but not bad;
  
  Lack of apps. (Hurry up Google)
  
  No flash player, so my wife can't play her online games.
  
  Menu navigation is a bit cumbersome, hopefully they give it a better flow with the upcoming upgrade. Don't get me wrong, everything is there, it can just be a bit confusing switching between TV and other apps like internet etc.
  
  Overall, I gave the set a 5, it deserves it, and the internet score a 4 only because because of the lack of Flash and the Google Chrome browser.

  I love this TV/Computer. I feel good about the quality of Sony, and because of the success and deep pockets of Google, I know they won't disappoint with future upgrades and features.

  Google Android on your TV.

  Pros: Easy to set-up and plug into home network, typical Sony TV performance. Remote uses RF instead of IR, and comes with IR blasters to control devices concealed behind cabinet doors.

  Cons: Software is a dressed-up version of the Google Android operating system. Initial boot time is over 40 seconds. Streaming media is limited. Browser is unstable. Third-party device control is spotty. Inconsistent user interface.

  Summary: Where to begin? First off, it is indeed a TV, and functions as one, with a built in ATSC tuner, built in HDMI ports, etc. What makes it different is that it is controlled by google software, most notably a variant of the linux based Android operating system used in mobile phones. This means, at least, the TV benefits from what google learned with its mobile phone offering. But it ends there. This TV tries to be a lot of things, and though it tries hard, it fails at most.
  
  It fails at being a web browser because the browser itself is unstable. Add Adobe Flash to the equation and the browser crashes more often than not. I expected it to be unstable with a complex Flash app like "Farmville" (which it is, very) but the mind boggles when looking at GoogleTV advertisements showing Farmville up on the browser. The browser has a hard time trying to figure out how to display pages, and I find myself constantly adjusting the "zoom" to arrange the page so it's comfortable to read. Because of the "lag" (probably in the browser software) changes in zoom sometimes take seconds to register, and since it's a analog dragging function with no feedback, I often over-zoom and have to go back. Frustrating to say the least.
  
  It fails at being a MediaTV device because there is very little content available. Many streaming services have blocked GoogleTV (like Hulu) leaving you with only the built-in Netflix client (which only appears to support the streaming of SD content at the moment, and has a very tired and unintegrated user interface. None of the standard remote keys work when Netflix is running, so you can't adjust your picture settings while a movie is playing, etc.
  
  Inputs and outputs are managed in the software for you, so you can tell it what device is connected to each input, and if the device is in its remote control database, it will control it for you. I originally set up the HDMI 1 input for my AppleTV as I normally would for any other TV, but then I realized if I configured it to be a "Network Media Player" then it would actually control it. Except that I couldn't delete the old HDMI description, which now made selecting it more confusing as HDMI 1 shows up twice in the menus.
  
  After the first hour using this TV, I realized just how much I really like my AppleTV, despite its utter lack of browsing features and locked-in media architecture. Their interface is uncluttered and free of branding (other than the Apple logo) and has a truly excellent and tightly integrated Netflix player.
  
  Because of the way the GoogleTV remote control functions (as a wireless device, instead of an IR remote) the TV comes with a two headed IR Blaster module that you put in front of your devices to allow the TV to pass on commands from the remote. This works OK with AppleTV, but the key mapping on the remote is horrible. The menu button (the "back" button on AppleTV) requires pressing the function key and the blue-ray menu key at the same time. Pretty hard to do with one hand, and is a horrible design for a button that is pressed repeatedly. There doesn't appear to be a way to remap keys.
  
  Under the hood, you can look at running processes and view the system console, which is very telling. It is riddled with debugging messages, assertion failures, and plain old error messages. The legacy of its mobile heritage shows when the system periodically logs messages about the SIM card and phone number, among other things.
  
  Using GoogleTV, I had the same feeling I had recently with a Windows laptop. Out of the box it was loaded with software I didn't want, all sorts of branding and cross-marketing crap I had to remove, and after a short period of time slowly became unstable.
  
  In time, they might get it right, but for now, it's a sloppy mess.

  Summary: I think this is a fantastic TV. There is nothing that I haven't been able to do with it that I wanted to do with it. Internet content is great for watching TV shows offered online. Using a Netflix application with a tv can't be beat. I've just started getting into connecting the TV with external media devices, but it seems to work pretty flawlessly so far. I really can't find anything to complain too much about. I would certainly buy this tv again and absolutely recommend to most anyone to get one. I think you have to be someone savvy to get things hooked up, but I would imagine if you can handle a smart phone, you can handle this TV. And once everything is connected and set up the way you like, there's not going back.

  Like the TV but Documentation very Poor

  TRY AND ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING

  Pros: Being able to access the internet while watching tv .But that's only if the remote control allows you to do it.

  the replacement unit that sony send me was a refurbished unit not new like they promise the front and back are split open after over 35 minutes waiting for the sony noservice to give me an answer I decdided to hang up lousy product DONT BUY.

  I got a TV that works like advertise, Abbie from the Sony South California Service Center took control of my situation and like a pro resolved it.No only did get a new TV that works but Sony bump me from the 32" to the 40" at no extra cost I'm a very happy Sony customer now .

  TV Excels in all areas

  Summary: I have had this TV now for a month, and it is awesome. It has great picture quality, it was a breeze to setup, and is easy to use. The only drawback is that the keyboard remote is a tad on the small side. The remote is very usable, however it could be a tad bigger. A nice touch would be an illuminated keyboard that is visible when the lights are low. I would recommend this TV. I wish I could have purchased a larger screen, however it had to fit in a specific space. We watch about 10 feet away, and it views nice. Don't have it hooked up to hi-def yet, our satellite system hasn't been updated to hi-def, not sure if I am going to do that yet or not, I am happy with the picture quality as it is.

  Cons: Pretty dang slow to boot if "Quick Boot" isn't selected (45 seconds by my count), TV Guide is pretty buggy and loads info when it wants, viewing angle isn't that great for an $800 32", isn't 120Hz, wish the remote was back lit, NO BUTTONS.

  But perhaps one of my larger gripes is the fact the component and composite inputs...are the same input. So, only one Wii, Xbox 1, camcorder, or any other RCA peripheral at a time on this TV. And no S video or even a VGA connection for older laptops. Really Sony, REALLY???? My $400 42" Panasonic has more expandability than this TV.
  
  Another is if you lose the remote and don't own an Android phone...tough luck. There are NO BUTTONS on this TV besides the power. Great if you have kids, crazy annoying if you just want to change an input real quick or if your batteries died.
  
  But the amazing picture and internet/TV PIP more than makes up for its downfalls. It is a TRUE pc underneath; 1.66gHz Intel Atom; not exactly PC gaming material, but lots can be done. I cannot WAIT til the hackers get to town on this TV.

  Pros: Very quick to set up. Easily connected with DirecTV and DVD player. Nice picture. Sleek and elegant design. Fast browser.

  Summary: Had originally purchased two Vizio 32" internet-ready TV's from Costco and both turned out to not work. Decided not to press my luck and went to Best Buy for the Sony 32" Google-TV. Set up out of the box was easy. Found and connected to my wireless network in no time. There was a system upgrade recently and the TV downloaded the update. I'd like to see more applications available for download but this is not available presently. I did read though that Google will be releasing an update for this soon. Love the Netflix integration. Recommended.

  Summary: My husband got this. It took a few minutes to set up but had difficulty with our cable box. We could change the TV channels with the up/down button but not with the keypad unless you were in the guide. We thought it was the placement of the IR blaster but it's just not the case.
  
  When we started browsing, those wonderful annoying ads were everywhere! Tried to install AdBlocker for Chrome but extensions are not supported at all! Tried to watch videos on bravotv.com, they don't play. In fact, got a nice announcement that it's not supported for google tv at this time.
  
  Went to armorgames.com to play free games, shockwave flash was not supported either! And there was nowhere to find how to install it.
  
  Tried navigating through Sony's tech support. Couldn't find an answer about how I can get it to do anything I needed to do! It felt more like a Microsoft experience than a google experience.
  
  I was unhappy to find that every piece of content I wanted to watch, I had to pay for. Not that I'm opposed to pay for things but the things I was looking for I get for free from my Fios box!
  
  The keyboard was confusing and it didn't come with a manual for the keyboard functions. What the heck do I do with the buttons labeled Yellow, Red, & Blue?
  
  I have my Ipod Touch and Samsung Fascinate set up as remote controls for my cable box and that was easier than trying to figure out if I'm pressing the right buttons on this thing.
  
  I didn't even bother to try the Blue-ray player. It doesn't even play divx for crying out loud! My Samsung TV does right off the bat!
  
  I'm smart enough to root my Android phone with ADB, able to change the ROM on my phone and get a custom Voodoo kernel going but I'm not smart enough for google tv.

  I must correct my self about the model of Google TV I purchased. I purchased the Sony Google TV model# NSZ-GT1. Not the one integrated into a television but rather a stand-alone unit with Blue-ray player. Either way, I don't recommend it.
