Incredible TV-- all I receive is praise from other video-philes
by wackawacka12 on September 19, 2007
Pros: picture, picture, picture, 3 HDMI connections, ability to connect to computer network,
Cons: needs color adjustment out of the box-- this can be tricky with the controls

Summary: I think this TV is great-- and I have to disagree with the negative postings as well as some of CNETs review. First, the picture needs adjustment out of the box-- this is true. But after you adjust the colors- the PQ is amazing-- you will definitely be satisfied with the amount of detail and vividness it can show (I mean it is a 10 bit screen).
Regarding setting up the network to play music and see photos-- this is very very easy to set up. I don't know what CNET is talking about-- I did it in 2-3 minutes. The only thing that doesn't work well is the email service since you do need the "@" symbol for your gmail account..which you can't input from the Toshiba screen...hopefully an update will be coming soon!
As for the 120 hz-- I think it is most applicable when you watch movies via HDMI-- but I haven't seen its benefits yet on cable-- but I also haven't subscribed to DirectTV yet so it may be more applicable for satellite digital imagery
Basically- to keep this summed up short-- IMHO the picture is as stunning as the new Sony XBR4s and the Samsung 72 and 82s...so you definitely get your bang for the buck-- I highly recommend this TV7 out of 7 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: i was leary of this set ,but after viewing at store many sets ,the picture was sharp and vibrant, and i haven;t even seen 1080p yet.The green push is not a facter on the hundreds sold here in canada at this dealer. The tech said very reliable no customer complaints.Either studdard and roost see a green sun or they got lemons,do not let them steer you away from this reliable tv.Is it perfect ,no ,nothing is but this t.v is one of the sharpest lcd,s around.I also own a sony sxrd2020 i'm still keen to it though, but toshiba is pushing the envelope.gotta see 1080p on this soon ,the still pics are stunning that i,ve seen,Don;t take my word either ,sound and vision praised it ,cnet gave it a 7.9 ,lots of really good reviews, can;t imagine next years model. On a closing note ,don;t let to green apples change your mind ,toshiba;s have been very reliable over the years. They definatly are headed in the right direction.I almost bought a sharp ,till the banding issues steered me away.Still watching 480i on this till my hd receiver arrives, and i was pleasantly surprised with most channels. But hd is what this is made for as i unhooked my 60" sxrd to compare.I was pleasantly surprised with picture right outa the box.If this tv is a lemon its news to everyone around these parts,Its like the maytag repair center, the old guy bored outa his mind.lush greens, vibrant reds intoxinising blues. If toshiba's accurate or even close ,60000 hours of pure heaven awaits the owner of these quality sets!

Problems with signal loss and pixelization.
by digitalsky on November 23, 2008
Pros: 120 mhz is great. I've had good luck with Toshiba in the past.
Cons: Signal break up, pixelization on some channels

Summary: Have had the set for over a year and I have had some problems, especially signal break-up and pixelization. TV towers are from 4 to 11 miles and I use an outdoor vhf-uhf antenna, RG-6 cable. It seems the set has difficulty processing one channel in particular, which is digital 14.1 broadcasting on channel 21. I get loss of signal message, and yet on a tv connected to a digital converter box attached to the same antenna I get signal strength of 85 to 90 from the same channel. Firmware update was applied, and the circuit board containing antenna input and tuner components was replaced. The problem still exists. I like Toshiba, but doubt I will buy another Toshiba tv in the future.

DO NOT BUY TOSHIBA PRODUCTS!!!! BEWARE!
by accakc on September 9, 2008
Pros: None so far...we purchased a TV 2 months ago. The mounting brackets were broken and we were instructed to send it to a repair center (at our expense). It came back to us THREE WEEK LATER NOT WORKING AT ALL!
Cons: We were told by Toshiba customer service (I use that term loosely since they don't service the customer at all) that since the service center they told us to send it to brake it, there was nothing Toshiba could do.
Summary: The BEST thing the manager of the "customer service dept" could offer was a phone number for the repair dept. You've kidding!Beware...if something is wrong with your ...

Summary: This was my 2nd hdtv i upgraded over a samsung rear projection 1080I.I must say wow this tv blows that one out of the water. The picture is amazing sharp and super bright it almost hurts your eyes in bright scenes with the lights out. This is a tv that looks perfect on hddvd and xbox 360.I also the think the networking is a awesome feature.I am able to view pictures and my music stored on my laptop. The only thing i have to say bad bout this is the sound is not all that great,i would use home theater setup if i was using the networking for my music. This In my opinion is the top of the line for 42 size lcd.there is no better tv in my opinion!
