The good: Costs less than most LED-based LCDs with local dimming; delivers deep black levels; relatively accurate color; extensive picture adjustments; can separate antiblurring and dejudder functions; plenty of connectivity with four HDMI and one PC input; eye-catching design.
The bad: Blooming more noticeable than on other LED-based LCDs; backlight fluctuates; poor off-angle performance; glossy screen reflects ambient light; benefits of 240Hz difficult to discern.
The bottom line: Albeit slightly less impressive than other LED-based LCDs with local dimming, the Toshiba SV670U also costs less and still gives great blacks.

Summary: broke down in few months, got the worst customer service experience from toshiba. I was being juggled between reps, laughing and mocking and joking around among themselves, transferring me among themselves, DID NOT help me at all, refused to let me talk to a manager or a supervisor, claiming they don't have one!
PLEASE save yourself the headache, and DO NOT PURCHASE a toshiba.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Avoid Toshiba at All Costs
by mgheff on November 12, 2012
Pros: Good black levels for sure, generous connections, generally attractive design but the bezel is quite thick for today.
Cons: Blooming, stand doesn't swivel, low quality, pathetic customer support.
Summary: Customer service is laughable, most of the times the reps don't know jack, so ask for a Case Manager if you must deal with them. Toshiba doesn't even ...
Summary: Customer service is laughable, most of the times the reps don't know jack, so ask for a Case Manager if you must deal with them. Toshiba doesn't even have its own technicians who can come and the TV...you have to BRING the tv to random repair centers "certified" by Toshiba....that's right, a 55 inch TV, just pop it in the car and bring it over! Yeah right, what a joke. Our TV, just 3 years down the road, is having backlight issues and they won't even acknowledge it. AVOID TOSHIBA AT ALL COSTS. Trust me, just stick to the real quality brands, spend the extra money and be happier.

Buying Toshiba was a biggest mistake of my life.
by shri_deepak on July 20, 2011
Pros: Nothing special.
Cons: Whenever this company is giving you any scheme or any offer. Beware, it could be a trap for your money. They offered me TATA Sky DTH along with TV duly advertising through papers, but ultimately I didn't got everything as per their announcement and today
Summary: Always go for reputed brand which has a bigger market share in India. This company doesn't have proper after sales support.

Price Meets Quality Meets Awesome Value

Pros: Design, Price, Inputs
Cons: Advance picture setup a must to get a lifelike picture, lack on internet connectivity. Rather bulky when compared to most other LED-LCDs.

Summary: After months and months of research for looking at LED-LCD tvs i landed on this Toshiba REGZA 46SV670U. Originally i had been staring down the LG Infinia 47LE8500, but with a budget in mind went with the Toshiba. While a comparison seems bleak, this Toshiba does not dissapoint as far as what i wanted out of a TV. Out of the box the picture is standard at best with a very dull and lackluster picture. It took me about 45minutes to get the TV to a crisp almost lifelike picture. The actual design on tv looks awesome a sharp finish does lead to reflecting but since i have it basement it is minimal at best. While weight (def a 2 person tv to lift) and depth (little more than 5inches) of the tv are very similar to that of a standard LCD tv .
After some noticeable flickering in black levels called toshiba and told me this is a problem they have remedied with a firmware update, waiting for it to arrive (they dont offer it on their website) via mail. Other than that the tv has looked great, Tinkering with the settings a bit more has gotten me an even more smooth and clearer picture.
Playing a blu ray movie via ps3 hdmi setup, the pictures looks fantastic! Great black level, little to no blur. Also watched some preseason football where the motionblur technology is at its best. As far as gaming is concerned you will need to switch the tv over to game mode in order to reduce the lag. I cannot report on the sound quality of the tv since i am using surround sound, but with most LED-LCD sound is probably average at best.
Now what really made my decision on Toshiba over the LG or any Samsung for that matter, was the price! I paid under $1000 for this TV brand new! (was on sale about 8/13/2010 on a few sites, but has since gone back up). Granted the price is mainly lower due to lack of extra features, which is to say no built in internet connectivity, which is the difference between this and most other newer LED-LCD tvs. I am an IT guy, and honestly i dont see any convenience in Internet over TV (when theres a pc input anyway), when i have a laptop at my disposal. For those not looking to break the bank on a nice sized and powerful TV (with the right fine tuning of course) its a must.

Love This TV Great 1080P clarity and great Black levels
by DustinKel on January 30, 2010
Pros: I planned to buy a Samsung Plasma TV but changed my mind after looking at the color accuracy and combination Brite scene's and black levels compared to the samsung plasma. The price was a Great Plus! Toshiba's are known for Reliability!
Cons: Off angle viewing can be a negative but stay front and center it's amazing! It's a heavy TV for an LCD but sturdy everywhere. Bright area's have some bright halo's around them but in most TV scenes you don't notice them. 240hz no blurring noticed

Summary: Bang for the Buck You can't beat this TV where can you get a 46" LED 240HZ LCD Brand New TV for $1500 for a TOP Notch Manufacturer Like TOSHIBA. I expect mny years of gret service from a TV that should never die especially with LED's. Toshiba's design all black with the fade to Silver accents is an amazingly beautiful addition to my home Theatre just like their really nice all black piano keys Laptops! That's next for me! The Blu-ray player is a must to see the true potential of this TV even with the 1080i max ability of my comcast cable HD it's clarity is beyond Belief........
I can't say enough about the value of this TV. By far the best so far from Toshiba flat screen TV's I look forward to the next generation of Toshiba TV's especially with 3D TV coming soon I'm sure Toshiba will have Top 5 Quality, Techology and design soon. Enjoy this one if you can get your hands on one! -
