Intro: The Westinghouse SK-26H240S is a 26-inch, LCD television.Compared to other LCD TVs on the market, it is relatively inexpensive at around $495.This unit is an LCD display, which is generally the best kind of flat-panel screen for viewing in brightly-lit rooms.

Noteworthy Features: With built-in HDTV compatibility, this TV set can display images that are significantly sharper and more realistic than regular television, as long as the source is high definition.(It can easily render standard-resolution digital TV broadcasts and also depict the full resolution of widescreen DVD video.)The 3:2 pulldown feature of this set reduces artifacts that can occur when motion pictures are transferred to a digital format such as DVD.

looks good in store but wasn't happy when i brought it home

Pros: cheap for 26" hdtv. many inputs

Cons: lots of noise on picture, very very cheap sound, below par hdtv

Summary: I had a 27" insignia televidion i bought from bestbuy andwhen i atached the hdmi cable to it, the picture was distorted, so i brought it back to bestbuy and they said i could go get another tv. I was comparing this westinghouse to another 26" insignia and in the store it looked like the westinghouse had a good picture. When i brought it home i found many flaws.
1. I had the same problem with the hdmi input
2. the picture has a lot of noise u cant see in the store
3. the sound was so cheap even with the bass on all the way
4. The your need to be looking directly at the tv from the same angle or the picture looks really dark

I wanted my old tv back really bad after i got the westinghouse, but i brought it back to bestbuy because i couldn't even see the screen from where the tv was in my room because it looked black. I replaced it with the ns-lcd26 which is a 26" insignia flat panel, and it was the best move i made because the picture is comparable to the lg and samsung and it had rich sound. I would definetely recomend the ns-lcd26 because it is unbeatable at $399

It's Alright (if you just want an LCD HDTV)...

Pros: It didn't fry up and break down on me.
Plus, the things you can do with it...

Cons: It doesn't cook you any meals.

Summary: Back in September of 2007, when I wanted to get myself an inexpensive HD-ready flatscreen TV; I didn't want just any old zippity-do-dah with an ego-size name. I wanted to get the most bang for the bucks I really didn't have at the time. And HDTVs were expensive enough as was.

But it works pretty good. I was able to get all the digital channels via the antenna I also bought. The hook-ups worked; the upconvert DVD player, the PS2, and the DVD-to-VCR. Adjusting the video was a pain. But I had this over a year. And I have no problems with this whatsoever.

Hopefully I'll be able to keep this for a long time. That's my goal.

Don't Purchase this Unit

Pros: None at all!

Cons: Got unit but no cord, no remoter, no screws to put base on with. Nothing in the box. Unit was a recertified unit. Customer service has been no help in getting this resolved!
