Summary: HOW TO CALIBRATE THE LOGITECH EXTREME 3D PRO JOYSTICK
I just figured out how to calibrate this joystick. I am using Windows XP. I assume it will work with all Windows operarting systems though.
Go to Control Panel, click on "Game Controllers", or however you get to your joystick settings. Hold down the "Ctrl" (control key) and the "Shift" key together - at the same time, THEN click your mouse on the "Properties". This should take you to a different calibration screen that you would get to without holding the two keys together. IMPORTANT - Click on the "Test" tab first. If you go to the settings tab first, it likely will not work. Without doing anything else after clicking on the "Test" tab, next click on the "Settings" tab. Then click on the "Calibrate" button below. Click "next". Click the thumb button on the left side of the joystick which should bring you to another screen. Then follow the prompts......
* On the "axis calibration", move your joystick in full circles, making sure the "+" symbol moves around the far margins of the square. After a few complete circles, click the "next" button with your mouse.
* On the next screen, click the left button on the joystick again, which should bring you to the next screen. Move the throttle lever back and forth a few times. Then click "next" again.
* On the "Z rotation screen", move the joystick to the left and right (rotate it) a few times. Then click "next" and then "finish" then "ok". Thats it. It should be calibrated now. Hope this helps everyone with problems.

Summary: Its a good overall joystick...I've had it for over a year and the buttons and and springs have yet to wear out, but its probably because the calibration stops working after several months. Since you cannot calibrate it on your own it makes using it fairly irritating when you are in the middle of a dogfight and all of a sudden you notice that your turning sucks. I dont know if the calibration just wears out or if something within the joystick just quits, but it stops working right after about 9 months or so.

Great stick, especially for the price.
by Cartsu17 on July 8, 2012
Pros: Solid design. plenty of buttons for most games. Joystick action is smooth. Very easy to use in air combat games, despite what others say.
Cons: Twist control is a little too sensitive, even with a slight deadzone added in the panel.
Summary: Overall a great stick for the price, don't regret getting it at all. Games I use it for: Space Orbiter, H.A.W.X., Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004.

So far so good
by mrmister91 on August 31, 2008
Pros: throttle control, nice precision, comfortable hold. 1yr warranty!!!
Cons: the buttons on the base feel a bit cheap - not a major problem. Worried that after a couple of months of use, it will develop calibration issues according to other reviews.

Summary: It is my first joystick so i cannot compare its features with others, used primarily for flight simulator and i find it excellent to use, fits very well in my hand, easily accessible buttons. Many other reviews on this page talk about some sort of "calibration Issue" that occurs after a few hours of use; but no worries, if i do have a problem with it then i will take it straight back to the store i purchased it from. lucky i unpacked it out of the box very carefully without tearing any of the packaging.

Summary: I've bought this joystick some time ago and i'm prety satified with it. When I brought it home, there we're no problems, strait plug-and-play (had the logitech software instaled from my logitech wheel).
It's confortable even if you have a bigger hand, buttons are positioned nicely.
Loveing the quality build, as it is expected of a Logitech product.
To rap it all up, I can say that it is a good joystick for the ocasional, maybe a litle more, gamer.

Summary: Used this joystick for a maximum of 20 hours and put in storage for a few months. Just recently took it out to play battlefield 2 and the calibration issue occurred. It jumps all over the place and logitech calibration fix is worthless. Too bad microsoft is not in the joystick market anymore. Only reason it gets more then a "1" is because it worked well for a month.

So far, has worked great
by on January 18, 2005
Pros: Have had it for six months, use it to fly FS 2004 and CFS. Nice handling, heavy base, stays put.
Cons: None so far; maybe people who complain about calibration and durability are using it to beat on their keyboard or something
