Very good joystick, but has room for improvements
by DP76211 on January 26, 2006
Pros: Ergonomic, comfortable design; plenty of programmable buttons; easy to use software; accurate; wireless and lagless; satisfyling clicky feel of trigger
Cons: very light, meaning that it will be pulled around; room for a few more buttons; throttle pretty unusable due to placing; some break or so I hear
Summary: Make no mistake: the Freedom 2.4 Joystick is a very good joystick, however Logitech seems to have a recent trend for easily overcomable flaws.

The main flaw here is the terrible placing of the throttle; get a full flight control system if you want to do some serious flying. For FPS's though, this shouldn't make that much of a difference.
The Freedom 2.4 is very comfortable, and you will never feel discomfort or strain using it. Your hands will rarely slide from the position you want them in.
Even though this is a good joystick, do not get it. Get Logitech's newer Force 3D Pro, which is basically the same plus vibration and more buttons but sans the wireless-ness. And if you want to fly, go for a full flight control system like Saitek's X52.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: Could not make the unit work. Installed and reinstalled hardware and software. Changed batteries, switched USB ports. Downloaded latest drivers, DirectX and calibration reset utility, all to no avail. Controls drifted to far extremes and could not be neutralized. Tried to take off in Flight Sim 2004 and immediately flipped upside down and landed in the drink.

Lots of functionality, poor quality and durability
by billstaf on October 19, 2006
Pros: Many programmable buttons. Wireless is nice. Batteries seem to last.
Cons: Stick is not durable enough. It breaks too easily for a stick in this price range. The non-adjustable handgrip might not fit many people very well.

Summary: This is the third one of these sticks that I have owned and it just failed again. It is also the last one I will buy from Logitech. In each case I have had buttons fail from basic use and the X-Y axis fail. I liked the features and the wireless benefit, but at these prices, I need something that will hold up.
Additionally, if you have small hands (kids and some women and men), you may find that the grip is a little too big for you. If you are left-handed, just forget about it.
Its too bad. This could have been a premium stick to own. I'll be looking elsewhere for my next stick. -
This is a great stick!
by cplair on January 4, 2006
Pros: Yank and bank cordlessly!
Cons: If used a lot, batteries die quickly and is for right handers only.

I can turn, burn, yank and bank all day with this stick. Assignable buttons gives it more of a personalized feel according to the software.
Logitech's cordless freedom flight stick is reliable, sturdy and most of all fun! -
