Summary: I have used this unit for the past two years and it has helped me in Korea and Afghanistan. I had to exchange this unit after an Afghanistan trip due to the display being damaged, but Garmin Customer Support was excellent. I would highly recommend this to anyone going into harms way and needing a combination radio and more importantly the GPS. With several people using this in a group the peer-to-peer location feature is a great help as well. The GPS is typical Garmin and works well and is easy to use. The radio portion is most likely Motorola as their accessories for their FRS/GMRS line work with this unit. A nice thing if you can't find Garmin accessories. Just use Motorola ones instead, the cost is about the same though. You do get what you pay for.
