The good: Supports Camera Raw 3.0, DNG, and 32-bit HDR--all vital to pro photographers.
The bad: Advanced features require top-end hardware.
The bottom line: If you're a professional or ambitious amateur digital artist, we highly recommend Adobe Photoshop CS2.

Another Excellent Photoshop from Adobe!

Pros: Vanishing Point, Red-Eye Brush, Warp Images, Customizable Interface

If you are just a casual photo user and already have Photoshop CS or even 7, you might want to hold-off on the upgrade, but it would still be worth it.

Save Your Money . . .

Summary: I've been a PS user since version 5. I must say they usually get better with upgrades. CS was great. CS2 is not. The program lags when loading (anyone else note this?) And if you attempt a function or even select a menu before the program is "ready" the whole thing crashes! CS loaded instantly and by the time the splash screen was down, the program was ready. Not so with CS2, you will have to wait as much as 20 seconds for the program to be "ready" and whatever you do, do not attempt to open a file or launch a menu . . just sit there and let it wake up. For my money, CS was better and is better and despite having spent a lot of bucks,I will probably re-install CS and shelve CS2.

Summary: I'm not a previous photoshopper and I'm not a professional photographer but I love the program thus far and find myself looking at taking picuters differently. The interface seems a bit complicated until you get use to three different 'pallets' open, but otherwise a solid investment if you are looking to develop a nice portfolio of digital work.
