  Magix Xtreme Photo & Designer 5: Warning !

  Pros: User of CorelDraw since the version 3, today version X3, I discovered Magix Xtreme Photo & Designer 5 with pleasure: user friedly, handy, quick for the DTP. With good potential for image editing incorporated in the DTP module. At a good price.

  Cons: BUT, very bad surprise:
  - import and export of .PDF do not work.
  Although this function is clearly promised on the Magix web site in french
  - import and export of .cdr, the Corel file format, doesn't function for CorelDraw X3.

  Summary: I get in touche with the french speaking technical service who sends me a patch to fix the .PDF problem ? no effect ? and tells me the .cdr format functions for Corel 3, 4 and 5... the versions of the 90's ?!
  I insist, the commercial service in Germany offers me... to reimburse. I answer I like the program and and I'd like to find a win-win solution. After a chain of unsuccesful e-mails I demand they fulfill the promises made on their web site. The same commercial service answers they have no solution... and propose, once again, to reimburse.
  I tested Xara Xtreme Pro:the .PDF format works but the functional differences are not worth the price difference.
  In short, Magix Xtreme Photo & Designer 5 is an interesting program for its DTP module... as long as you do not need their commercial service, stiff and narrow-minded who does not respect the contractual commitment of the company.
  
  Regarding the web module, I tested, 02.26.2010, some of Magix and Xara web sites with validator.w3.org: between 17 and 87 errors. I suppose they develop their own web sites with their own programs. WebAcapella performs better.
  Regarding the image editing module, I do consider Paint.Net (free) and Corel PaintShop Pro (commercial but very professional) are better choices.

  Cool & Easy to Use!!!

  Pros: I was immediately able to start working on my photos - it is super easy to use and has some great features like the red eye fix, and all the crazy filters. You can even upload photos to online album with personalized address.

  Cons: Haven't found anything yet.

  Summary: Totally worth having. I use it all the time now and love it.
