Summary: I used to have a HandSpring Palm based PDA. Never used it, even though I bought a pretty expensive BlueTooth expansion for that one. Too much trouble, took too long to do e-mail etc etc. I decided to buy the iPaq anyway, just to give it another try. I never regretted buying the 3970! I take it with me when I travel, and it works great! MSN, ICQ, E-Mail and even web browsing enables me to keep in touch with customers, collegues and server overview pages we use (MRTGs)! I use it exclusively with BlueTooth to my GPRS enabled phone for internet access. Never sync it, and don't have WiFi yet.

Summary: I spent about week exchanging E-Mail with HP support. Most of answers was redicules. It look like they read only first sentence and tries to answer on it. At last I call to support. They tried to teach me to use stylos, but after all said that Bluetooth connection with Access Point is not supported. You can connect only with cell phone or computer...

Summary: Thisis my 2nd IPAQ. Recently sold my IPAQ 3650 on EBAY and purchased the 3970. I am a POWER USER and constantly push the IPAQ to its limits...and it never has failed! I needed the extra memory as I have multiple screens and applications open at the same time. I purchased a 128MB (SD Memory) mini flash card to store all of my email attachements. I have a wireless network card that keeps me connected in the office as I move between office meeting spaces, and a "Socket" cable connected to my cellphone. I am waiting for my wireless provider to bring out there new "bluetooth" phones and I will be tottaly wireless!! The new touch screen has been improved and accepts lighter taps as I access my calendar and contacts. The new screen is brighter than the 3965...and best of all...all of my accessories (modem, expansion packs, CF...) all still fit the IPAQ H3970. LOVE IT!

Summary: It's frustrating when people keep on complaining about the barely noticeable speed bumps out there; what they dont know is that it does perform better than its competitors. Based on a benchmark survey, the iPAQ 3970; a better model than 3950, demonstrated superior performance than its precedors and its current rival, the Toshiba e740. The video, although did not improve, because optimization has come in yet, played true as it did not dropped frames like the Toshiba and previous iPAQs did. Also, one thing people do not know is that the HP iPAQ 3950/70 has a 4 series bus for its SD memory slot compared to the 38xx series, which only has 1. This means that the notoriously slow performance from the SD slot in 38xx series is now gone; the 39xx has a huge increament in performance and too than the e740 from Toshiba. Moreover, the transreflective screen does not do itself justice when editors rave about it. You simply have to see it to believe it, it's incredible; makes you want to wait a little longer in case HP/Compaq comes out with a better version. Least but not last, the HP iPAQ has the LONGEST battery life out there of all the pocket pcs. Again, benchmarks proved it but do not take my word for it; go tweak with it yourself for hours in superstores if you want to. The most disappointing thing about the HP iPAQ is of course, its lack of features. Much critism has been made about its lack of built in Wi-Fi and CF card slots. Also, the battery is not replaceable and the overall package is very slightly a tab bulky. But bear in mind that having Wi-Fi is no great advantage for its monstrous consumption of its battery life and so does the CF slot; weakening Toshiba's e740 already unsatisfactory battery life. All in all, the HP iPAQ is definetely one of the best out there. But dont take my word for it.

Summary: I looked and played the new Ipaq 3950 at PC Expo and I found out that this thing is really fast! As fast as my old Palm Vx in scrolling through programs but for PocketPC. Truly awesome, the speed of Palm apps and power of PocketOS. It's definitely thinner than my current 3650 model and lighter. Please, put 802.11b so I can surf the web at home.
