  Comfort, sound, value

  Pros: Outstanding, clean, clear sound.
  Excellent comfort and isolation.
  Great value prop for sound quality v. cost.
  Excellent customer service and warranty.
  Filters make them two phones for the price of one.
  Mids and highs are crystal clear, very accurate.

  Cons: Cable has had some shorting issues among owners.
  Needs an amp to hit maximum potential (volume issues with some players).
  Bass could be more forward (but not too bad on balance).

  Summary: I have had the Audeo PFEs since January, and compared to my "top-tier" phones (Westone 3 and Sennheiser IE8, which both have MSRPs of $400 or more), these phones can hold their own - with one main caveat. I believe they really don't reach their potential without a good, warm headphone amp. In my case, I use the iBasso T4, which is about $130 new. But even a cheap FiiO E4 is enough to bump up the bass. I have volume issues with a few of my players (mainly the Sony A818 and the Sansa Clip), so using an amp also gives you plenty of volume.
  
  I am not saying you MUST have an amp to enjoy the PFEs. But I am saying that with an amp, the PFEs go to an even higher level of SQ. Just my view. Others may not agree.
  
  Design-wise, the PFEs do feel very comfortable with their over the ear design. The included sleeves work for me (I use medium silicone), but if you like the foamies (one pair is included), it will cost you because you have to buy them. Phonak sells 3 pair for $13, and a pair might last you a month or so. Better if the silcones work since they are more durable and should not need replacing.
  
  In terms of sound signature, the PFEs are among the cleanest, clearest in-ear phones you will ever hear. They are superb with genres like acoustic guitar, jazz, vocals, etc. Not bad with rock or other more bass-oriented genres, but bassheads may find them lacking for rap or hip-hop. However, hook them up to an amp with a good bass boots switch, use the black filters (the more bassy of the two filters, as the gray filters emphasize the mids and highs more), and the bass can sound amazing as well.
  
  As you can tell, I like these phones. At $125 (for the non-iPhone version and with the current discount code (as of 3/9, YTECH10 gave you a 10% discount), they are tough to beat. Plus, Phonak gives you a 14-day money back guarnatee, so what's to lose trying them out?

  Great clarity good mids

  Cons: highs can be too bright
  May need an amp to get the sound volumes you need

  Pros: Great sound stage, imaging and instrument separation.
  User customizable using the provided filters (grey - focus on highs, black - balanced with fuller bass).
  Great detail.

  Cons: Filter choice makes you keep switching.
  Thin bass using grey filters.

  Also, if this is your first IEM (In-Ear-Monitor), you may have some discomfort issues for a day, or two, stick with it, and let the brilliant music shine through!

  not only "perfect fit", but also "perfect listening"

  Summary: Instead of reading reviews, you should simply try them in order to experience the pleasure of using them.
  Having listened (via nano 4th generation) to a wide variety of my favourite music (rock, R&B, various periods of jazz, classic music from various centuries and composers), I am amazed. Everything comes out in a perfectly precise manner, no over- or under-accentuation of any frequency range. Just as it should be!
  For me, the (foam) sound isolation works efficiently, both in aircrafts and trains. It blocks the general noise, but leaves me aware of the fact that there are cabin announcements, so that I can pull the earphones out, in order to understand the messages. Absolutely total isolation might be difficult to achieve, perhaps with the silicone tips which I have not tried.

  Pros: Impressive soundstage, silicone sleeves, light and unobtrusive.

  Cons: Sound isolation is poor, specific frequencies leak through (e.g., the cracking of newspapers), needs equalizer to sound great.

  Summary: Bought this set to replace my Shure E2C, because the cable isolation had cracked. The silicon sheets are a big plus, and may prevent damage to the cable, which is quite thin, relative to the Shure. The soundstage is impressive. It can really sing, once you get the equalizer settings right. Although I mostly listen to jazz on my Cowon Iaudio7, I find that the 'rock' preset makes for the most natural sound.
  The biggest problem is with sound isolation. The foam tips do not work for me, because they get soiled in a day. So I use the silicon ear plugs. Although my Shure E2C had cost about half of the Phonak, I got a much bigger assortment of ear plugs and tips, and the sound isolation was much better.
  Perhaps it is the odd combination of man and silicon, but with the Phonak, It seems like some frequencies from outside are even amplified. At least, some part of the frequency range is blocked, the other part filters through. In particular the sound of newspaper leaks through and spoils the fun.
