Perfect earbud for people who don't like earbuds!
by Spartan_JM on October 31, 2010
Pros: Very comfortable and secure fit. Sound quality among the best I have heard at this price for a non-noise-isolating in ear headphone.
Cons: Does not block external noise - which could be a pro for some.

Summary: I use these every day to listen to my iPod to and from work and I can definitely say these are a significant upgrade for anyone using standard earbuds, with very good sound quality and a very comfortable fit. Brings out subtle details in music and improves bass response with a much more balanced sound. Most Bose products are arguably over-priced relative to the competition, but this is an exception. As noted these are not noise-isolating, which I actually prefer. In their category I think they are one of the best in-ear headphones out there. Highly recommended!

Great sound, poor quality
by BenjaminHeckscher on October 1, 2011
Pros: I have used Bose for about 5 years; I listen to music constantly and these are the most comfortable and best-sounding in-ears I have found.
Cons: In 5 years I have had to replace my headphones five times. The plastic sheathing on the wire cracks and splits very quickly at the junctures with other elements. The newer ones which I bought 9 months ago have cracks at the Y-junction and at the bast of

Good sound for the price, a little short on details
by bob_tomato on October 21, 2012
Pros: Extremely comfortable, the Bose IE2s offer good sound quality with a decent amount of bass and a slightly wider range than some other headphones of similiar price. Bose thoughtfully included three sizes of inserts that easily slip over the speakers
Cons: The headphone cable does seem somewhat flimsy and it is not long enough for my taste. Some might consider $100 a bit high for these in-ears.

Summary: As a sound tech / worship leader / recording engineer at my church, I am always in need of a decent set of headphones that I can keep with me at all times. I bought the IE2s several months ago, and I've found myself using them in a lot of applications - mixing, recording and even while on stage (the band members all use headphones - no stage monitors). Admittedly, they are not ideal for any one of these situations, but I find them irrestibly easy to use in each scenario and use them a LOT. The sound is good, the length is just (barely) right for each instance, and most importantly, they are so comfortable that I can forget I have them in my ears. One thing I've found on stage is that I can hear the congregation a bit over the mix in my ears - this has been a good thing for me as I can get instant feedback on what's happening in the room as I lead the band.
Overall, the Bose IE2 certainly isn't for everyone, and if you require high quality and/or sound isolation for any of the applications I mentioned, they definitely aren't for you. But for those who prefer extreme comfort in an in-ear monitor at a relatively decent price, the Bose IE2 might be a good solution to consider.

The headphones are overall good, consisted w/good sound
by 7antonio on July 12, 2012
Pros: They are small and somewhat sturdy.
Great sounds
Cons: Weird and an awkward shape to get use to. They only lasted me about four months. And started to show some wear and tear around the jack itself and around the actual headphone.
Summary: If you buy them then just know to be extremely careful with them. They do sound pretty good but I would've rather bought some other headphones if I knew ...

Money lost on overpriced, inadequately built product.
by jamesantone on June 6, 2012
Pros: If I had the ability to use the features advertised for this product I would probably be able to give a Pro. Unfortunately the most important features (use with Iphone & speakers themself) have failed after ten days of use.
Cons: After only 10 days use, the left ear bud speaker rattles in its casing. The music control button (back or forward) has stopped working. I take meticulous care of this product for it to fail as quickly as it did, and for the price.

Summary: I bought these on advice from a friend to use with my Iphone. The only thing I initially used them for was possibly three phone calls while driving. After starting my workout routine again after the winter of walking and listening to music on my Iphone, it took only 10 days before the left speaker bud was displaced from its casing where you could hear it rattle when shaken. It also sounded like a blown speaker when music played. The controller buttons that are supposed to advance or reverse a song connected to the cable stopped working after just 8 uses. I had to use my Iphone to either advance or reverse a song selection. For the price paid for this product, you would expect better testing before putting it on the market, especially from a company as reputable as Bose. In contrast, it almost seems they used their name alone to price this product as I can spend $10-$20 on a pair of ear buds that not only sounds as good or better, but also lasts much longer. This has soured my thinking on Bose and I will consider this product the next time I need any sound equipment.

Awesome fit and sound!

Pros: Great sound for earbuds. Fit my ears comfortably. Take this with a grain of salt as everyone has their own idea of fit and sound quality.
Cons: None so far.

Summary: In my opinion these are the best earbuds I've ever owned. True audiophiles know that Bose is the best in the business for great sound. The bass is rich without being overpowering, like someone driving around with their subs turned WAY too high, and the mid's and high's are crisp with just the right amount of treble. Not one genre of music sounds bad played through these. I own both the IE2's and the Klipsch S4's, and hands down the Bose wins every category. With the S4's the bass is great but other frequencies are drowned out due to very very low treble levels, so sound reproduction just isn't very pleasing. While not noise-isolating, if you use the best sized cup for your ears you shouldn't have any issues with outside noise. For $70-$80 the Klipsch (for me anyways) just don't perform for the money. These IE2's, though, are well worth the price though. You always know what you're gonna get with Bose.
