"I've used these for a month now, and here's what I have to say."

    on February 20, 2005

Pros: 1) Excellent sound quality - No brand can come anywhere close to Bose in sound quality. 2) Good noise canceling - The noise canceling works very well for low frequencies. I use my QC2 during my daily commute on the Metra train in Chicago. The headphones

Cons: 1) Do NOT expect the noise cancelling to put you in a vacuum. It works very well, but you won't be transported to your own private world. You will still hear some noise, although it is vastly reduced. 2) The price tag on the QC2 is a bit too high. I thin

so, on a pure noise cancelation side what headphones would you recommend then instead of the Bose QC2's ?

It doesnot appear that the Bose QuietComfort2 contains: -
    1) 5.1 Digital
    2) Prologic II and
    3) HD Dolby

Bose, doesnot alleviate all external sounds therefore it probably is a waste of money.

I shall wait until the standard of wireless headphones substantially improve before buying any more.

I have no doubt that these are great phones, but there's a lot of headphones out there with excellent sound quality (and heavy price tags to go with them.)

For $300, you can get an excellent set of Monitor headphones, and get better sound quality then these.

You can easily beat Bose in the sound quality arena, and usually do it within the price range of Bose equipment.

I do want to get a pair of these though, even though I have a couple excellent sets of studio phones. These are for the casual music listener, or public commuter - not the audiophile.
