Overpriced, but not all bad.
by cyberidd on May 10, 2008
Pros: Active noise cancelling reduces outside ambient noise; portable.
Cons: Hugely overpriced; somewhat muddy sound quality; bass can be overpowering; music dies when the QC3's batteries do, whether noise cancelling is on or off.

Beautiful sound, very comfortable, but not perfect.
by BrandonO120 on September 7, 2012
Pros: Sound: Doesn't get any beter then this.
Design: Very comfortable to wear and the breakaway cord has saved me several times.
Cons: Battery life: The noise canceling requires a AAA battery that dies rather quickly. Also there is no way to turn the noise canceling off.

Summary: I wear these everyday at work so I get a LOT of use out of them. What is great is that they are always up to the task and I've never had any issues with them. The sound is perfect. Clear, undistorted, and perfectly balanced. Also they are very comfortable, though they can at times make your ears hot.
All and all they are a great product that does exactly what you want them too. I just wish they didn't need battery power or at least better battery life.

Great Sound for Average User, Poor Value and Durability

Summary: For the average guy (like me!) these phones were great. I bought them five years ago and for the first few years they were champs. Then the pads wore out and they charged for new ones. The batteries lasted only three years (with regular use) and are $50 each. Finally after only 5 years the actual jack (built into the unit, not the cable) frizzed out. Super disappointing. Simple fix for Bose: unlimited lifetime warranty and the price would be justified, and I would buy another pair. Off to find something more reasonably priced! Never again will Bose get my money!

Tried this after Nokia 950i and went with Nokia.
by maxum2400 on November 19, 2011
Pros: Great quality sound and very good quality headset.
Cons: Price, simply price. The Nokia was very close in sound and same in quality but killed Bose on price.
Summary: Buy if you like the name more than the money.

Bose QC3 Poor Quality
by time4areview on November 7, 2011
Pros: Worked as expected of a $350 headset until they began to fall apart shortly after 'one year warranty' expired.
Cons: 1. Proprietary battery charger failed during warranty period (lucky because Bose will not stand by their overpriced product after one year warranty has expired) and had to be replaced.
2. After the 'one year' warranty expired the ear cushions began t

Summary: I have had these Bose QC3's for several years.
I always took good care in handling these QC3 headphones. They were never dropped or mishandled, and were always kept in the hard case when not in use. I used them while flying on business.
I contacted Bose about the ear cushions which began to flake and deteriorate after 'one year warranty' expired (many people have reported this known quality problem). The Bose customer support rep quoted the 'one year warranty' and advised I could buy another pair of the same junk ear cushions for $35. I declined.
As others have mentioned in reviews (see Amazon), it seems many people after spending $350 on the QC3s, seem to want to post a review after a few days, weeks, or maybe months. This only serves to perpetuate the Bose myth of how great these headphones are. Yeah, ok, they worked as expected when brand new. Shouldn't they? Shouldn't the quality be such for $350 that they last well beyond the 'one year' warranty?
As for me, after several frustrating written exchanges with Bose support, Bose has lost my business.
Updated on Nov 7, 2011
Additional Cons: (cons exceeeded intial post limit)
2. After the 'one year' warranty expired the ear cushions began to flake and crumble with little black specs all over my clothing. Looks great after getting off a business flight. Bose will be kind enough to sell you another pair of these garbage ear cushions for $35. No thanks.
3. The on-off switch has become faulty and sometimes needs to be switched on/off several times for them to turn on.

Good Noise Canceling Ok Sound
by Psylacus on September 23, 2011
Pros: Great Noise Canceling.
Ok Sound.
Great for those who travel.
Cons: Expensive.
Sound not as good as the Sennheiser PXC 450's
Made cheaply - feeling wise to me.
Summary: Honestly unless you are dying for a BOSE... or the best noise canceling out there atm.
Check out the Sennheiser PXC 450's - Probably a better bang for you ...

Great headphones... be careful with the wire!
by Darlock on May 12, 2011
Pros: Fantastic sound, great noise reduction as always
Cons: The cable that connects the headphones to your audio device is very flimsy. There's an elbow connection on the device end and it frays very easily. I have to replace it about once a year and because it's a proprietary connector, you have to buy it from
Summary: Great overall... but budget an extra $30 to $60 for replacement cables over the device's lifetime.
