Wow, this sound is not expected from these cans.
by audioaddict on May 22, 2006
Pros: Unexpected good sound and foldable for portable use.
Cons: Almost everything else: not comfortable, ugly, just down right low-end 'phones.
Summary: The only reason they deserve a 7 is their sound and volume/sound type control.

Summary: The only reason they deserve a 7 is their sound and volume/sound type control.
Sound:
These were the cheapest headphones i ever used and surprisingly they have unexpected nice sound for this cheap price. If your last minute and just need really (and I mean REALLY) headphones then these are pretty good considering their sound.
Joke:
I don't exactally know what Maxell means with the "Digital" Headphones, I mean like do these cans have compressed files or something?
Design:
Ugly.
Foldable is sort of useful but not really.
Comparison (Sony V150):
Compared to the V150, these have better overall sound but only when the sound control is near the middle and have better insulation but these definitly look worse than the V150s.

Okay, but not the greatest ever
by PCDUDE on May 8, 2006
Pros: Good for the price, but would never use them in a critical situation such as a studio
Cons: Base response is bad, and does not always come through clearly.
Summary: Better stick with Sony or Sennheiser Professional if wanting true sound. These work well with travel. If you want the real base, you have to push the low end slider ...

The slider volume on the cable is really annoying.

Summary: These are cheap head phones. That's why we buy them. We hope the price/performance ratio is good but that is not always the case. In that respect these headphones are average. Not a lot of bass. Mid-range and highs are a bit thin but they are airy, exhibiting a nice amount of space between instruments. The highs are thin but detail is good and only occasionally tinny. They feel more expensive than they sound and ergonomically are above average for phones in this price range, the only physical drawback being the short cord. They fold up for travel which is a nice feature for headphones large enough to cup our ears completely. Want a pair of headphones that feel good, look nice, travel well and sound okay for 10 bucks or less then these are the ones.

Summary: I used to own a pair of these not too long ago, and initially, I wasn't happy with them. I suppose this could be because I was listening to crappy mp3 CDs, and was too stupid to realize this at the time.
Anyways, recently, I was going to replace a set that had just died on me, and decided to give this set another shot.
Yes, the bass could be better, but there IS bass, just not thundering in presence. Sure, the plastic may fail, but plastic is prone to doing that.
Would I recommend these to another person? You bet your ass I would.

Good Value for less than 20 bucks

Pros: Comfortable, large ear cups, eliminates most outside noise.
Cons: None so far. Plastic parts may fail at some point, but what do you want for less than 20 dollars?

Pros: price comfortable over ears compact when folded
Cons: zero bass, a definite deal breaker for me. actually going back and returning these headphones.
