Score a 22-inch Acer LCD for $109.99--and get a three-year warranty!
(Credit: Staples)Update (10:10 a.m. PT): Looks like everything but the Dell laptop is sold out. Sorry, folks! It's worth checking back on the other items, though, as sometimes stock gets replenished.
Ah, Cyber Monday. Now this is a day of deals I can get behind. No crowded parking lots, no unruly mobs, no pushing and shoving. (What? The old lady got in my way!)
Of course, as regular visitors to The Cheapskate know, nearly every day is Cyber Monday--the deals keep coming all year 'round.
But this Monday is special, so I've rounded up four particularly sweet bargains that are good today only. And, as always, the sellout risk is high, so get your mouse-clickin' finger(s) warmed up.
1) In the market for a monitor? Staples has the Acer X213HBbd 21.5-inch LCD for $109.99 shipped (plus sales tax in most states). Specs include VGA/DVI (HDCP) inputs, a 5-ms response time, and a three-year warranty (score!). This is the lowest price I've seen on a new 22-inch monitor.
2) Need a desktop replacement? Dell has an Inspiron 17 laptop for $549 shipped. It sports a whopping 17.3-inch display, a Core 2 Duo processor, and Windows 7 Home Premium. You can customize just about every feature to your liking, but the base configuration is mighty solid. That's the best deal on a 17-inch lappie I've seen all year--not the lowest price, mind you, but the best bang for the buck.
3) Still shopping for the perfect portable PC? Best Buy has the Samsung N140-14R Netbook for $279.99 shipped (plus sales tax in most states). That's higher than other models I've posted recently, but this is a decidedly high-end Netbook. Specs include Intel's Atom N280 processor, a 10.1-inch screen, a 250GB hard drive, 802.11n, and a six-cell battery. The OS: Windows 7 Starter.
4) Here's a great stocking stuffer: Newegg has the Zune Premium Headphones for $9.99 shipped. I've had a pair for years; they're my preferred earbuds for travel. They do a great job isolating outside noise (like airplane engines), and they're extremely comfortable. Obviously you don't need a Zune to use them; they'll work with any phone or MP3 player. Microsoft sells them for $39.99, so I can't recommend this deal highly enough.
Well? See anything you like? If not, don't worry--there's always tomorrow. In the meantime, hit the comments to share your tales of Cyber Monday scores.
P.S. Anybody catch me on Good Morning America today? No worries: you can catch me daily on CNET's Holiday Help Desk at 1 p.m. PST.

Great sound quality while still being inexpensive.
by nmwheele on October 25, 2010
Pros: Great sound quality. Sturdy wires. In-Ear buds fit well even for prolonged use.
Cons: The bass is a bit lacking at times. When you are building a static charge in the winter time, the metal portion of the earbuds can shock your ears (not painful, just catches you off guard). Rubber fitting at the jack end can tear easily.
Summary: Great earphones. You can get these as low as $10 (shipped) from different online retailers. While the bass is a bit on the low side, it more than makes up ...
Summary: Great earphones. You can get these as low as $10 (shipped) from different online retailers. While the bass is a bit on the low side, it more than makes up for it in extended period comfort and sound quality.
A couple of notes to watch out for:
1. If you keep the player in your pocket and build up a static charge against your pants, the earphones can shock you every once in a while when you move. This doesn't hurt, but can be unsettling if you're not prepared for it.
2. While the cord is nice and nearly tangle-proof, if you catch it on a sharp nail, hook, zipper, etc... it can fray. (Mine haven't frayed yet, but I can see how it could happen.)
3. They do give you several options for ear inserts. Pick what feels comfortable, the ones that come standard on the earbuds to begin with are the biggest size they give you.
4. Watch the rubber fitting at the jack end. If you stress the end too much by pulling on it 90° to the jack, the rubber protective neck can tear after time. This hasn't affected the quality yet, but it can be prevented entirely if you keep this in mind.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Threaded Cover tears easily
by DeaducK on March 8, 2010
Pros: Sound Quality Good
Didn't pop even after rough use till 1 year.Cons: Threaded cover tears easily and the rubber inner layer sticks out like a loop. Its impossible to get it to get back in. One side popped after a year and 1 month. But given its price, I'm still content that I could use it comfortably for a year.
Summary: Good headphones. Price & Quality makes it well worth buying. I'm still a bit undecided, but thinking about ordering a new pair 39.99 + 5 shipping Canadian $$ with a ...

These things rock my socks off!
by Rod Roddy on December 14, 2008
Pros: Good materials used, good construction, lots of ear bud options for different ear canal sizes, great sound.
Cons: cord gets tangled quite easily, would have liked to have seen a gold plated connector.
Summary: I bought mine NEW for $19.99 on ebay, although compared to other brands, you get great sounding earbuds without breaking the bank.

Awesome, best headphones I'd ever had
by Deathcon 5 on December 28, 2007
Pros: Magnet on buds, changable inserts, cable, sound
Cons: A little expensive if bought on their own, but an awesome deal as they come with the Zune 80
Summary: If you considering a mp3 player the Zune 80 is awesome as it comes with these. If you want cheaper but a little worse (don't have fabric cable, not ...

Wonderful headphones
by link48010 on October 14, 2009
Pros: Powerful bass, great treble, nice and warm mid ranges. They are comfortable and can be used for hours on end. Block most outside sound. Nice and loud so you don't have to crank the volume dial. Magnet helps keep them from tangling
Cons: The cord rubbing on things while you move can make some annoying sound in your ears. The jack that plugs into your device is sensitive to being bent. Treble sounds can actually be a little painful if you accidentally turn things up to loud.
Summary: I hardly don't buy other headphones. Their sound is great, the same quality as the Bose in-ear headphones that cost twice as much. They have a very comfortable fit ...
Summary: I hardly don't buy other headphones. Their sound is great, the same quality as the Bose in-ear headphones that cost twice as much. They have a very comfortable fit and I've been through two pair and three years (the first pair still works, but they are pretty torn up, I'm pretty rough on my headphones). They even have similar specs to Apple's In-ear headphones which cost considerably more. I however, don't thing these would be good for joggers for two reasons. 1. The block out so much sound your likely to not hear a fire engine coming your way. 2. The fabric cord can produce a lot of background sound if you move too much and don't keep the volume up to a reasonable level.
Overall, I'm very pleased. A reasonable price for a very nice pair of in-ear headphones. -
Great Sound, Good Price, Durable, but some fit issues
by horrayforbikes on April 21, 2009
Pros: These small headphones have great sound for earbuds. They kinda suction into your ear so they do a pretty great job of cancelling outside noise (like the E train screeching through long tunnels). Also have a woven cord and buds attach w/magents.
Cons: A lot of earbuds are too big and just plain hurt. These did come with 4 sizes of rubber earbud covers but even the smallest was still a little big. I also feel like the headphone cords get caught on EVERYTHING and pull the buds out of my ears.
Summary: I got these a while ago and still use these as my main headphones. New York is a really loud city and this does a good job of blocking out ...
Summary: I got these a while ago and still use these as my main headphones. New York is a really loud city and this does a good job of blocking out annoying people on the train and the sounds of the train itself. I used to have to turn up my volume to 11 but now it's always around 7.
The buds have good range (bass and the high freqs). I am not a music snob and don't want to spend too much on headphones but also don't want to sacrifice sound. For about $30-40 these are really great.
If you have small ears, watch out. They did hurt/bother me at first but not it's not even an issue.
I also ride my bike with these in and they do stay (even moving my head around a lot). The small rubber piece where the cord splits for the buds gets caught on everything though. It's really frustrating. I feel like my old zune buds never really did that. But still, this shouldn't deter you from a great, cheap set of buds. -
The "hidden gem" of Microsoft
Pros: Great sound isolation.
Great sound quality from any audio source.
Magnetic ear buds and plastic slider to keep the cords from tangling.
Ergonomic cord design.
Long durability (have had mine for almost year a year now and no signs of wear).Cons: Haven't found anything after almost a year of useage.
Summary: The best ear buds I have ever used and they were actually the least expensive as well. Best price for the best quality. Microsoft has finally created a product that ...

by dunno40 on February 25, 2009
Pros: Good sound quality, magnets on back keep them tidy, fabric around cord is better than cheap 'n tacky plastic and the buds stay in v. well.
Cons: Not very cheap if bought by themselves, but 19 dollars isnt much at all.
Summary: Free with Zune 80GB and look nice too. Generally relly good earphones.

very good for earbuds, very balanced, cheap but strong
by paradiddleluke on February 8, 2009
Pros: great acoustical balance, EXCELLENT BASS RESPONSE, good mids and good highs. The chord gets tangled very easily however with the magnetic ends on the buds it does help a bit. The silicone tips fit very well and stay put no matter what.
Cons: only cons are the chord noise, this was honestly the only thing that i did not like about these headphones, if my music was playing and my finger or arm or shirt brushed against the chord you heard it pretty loudly, other than that small thing nothin

Summary: I have a pair of Bose On-Ear TriPort headphones, when i got my zune i tried out the earbuds that came with it expecting nothing from them, and in all honesty the sound quality from the zune headphones were just as good as the quality on the bose headphones, not to mention they are much lighter and easier to wear in public. Excellent buy for the money, very few cons, i wish i hadn't lost these
