A huge disappointment
by phelpsee on June 7, 2010
Pros: Nice design, the chrome finish is impressive and the cords seem durable.
Cons: None of the rubber ends fit well in my ears. Sound quality was extremely tinny, even with the EQ adjusted.
Summary: I bought these earphones for $100 expecting at least above average sound quality. However, the sound quality is comparable to any pair of in-ear headphones that you could purchase at ...
Summary: I bought these earphones for $100 expecting at least above average sound quality. However, the sound quality is comparable to any pair of in-ear headphones that you could purchase at target or walmart for $15. Seeing that monster is the company that produced the "beats by dr. dre", which have exceptional sound quality, I expected much more. I was so disappointed with my purchase that I returned this product within the hour. If you're looking for excellent sound quality for around $100 check out the Klipsch S4 Image earphones.

Decent offering from Monster, but not at MSRP.
by MikeyInTheD on October 5, 2012
Pros: -Styling design
-Solid construction
-Affordable on Monster's eBay storefront ($27.95 shipped brand new)
-Heavy bass but clarity equal with other's in price-range
-Multiple tips to ensure secure fit for 99% of listenersCons: -Heavy due to metal construction
-Cord feels somewhat cheap (not as bad at Klipsch S4i)Summary: I purchased these for $27.95 shipped on eBay brand new directly from Monster's eBay storefront. If you are paying anywhere near MSRP you're wasting money on overpriced ...
Summary: I purchased these for $27.95 shipped on eBay brand new directly from Monster's eBay storefront. If you are paying anywhere near MSRP you're wasting money on overpriced earbuds. If you get these for under $60 you are getting a great value. Solid construction, heavy bass while still offering clarity for country music. Monster provides not only multiple sizes of rubber eartips, but also different shapes. Works great for me since my left ear requires a smaller eartip than my right ear. I listen to a range of music from country to hip-hop - these did not disappoint with any genere. Bass was heavy as expected, but clarity was much better than I had hoped given the reputation of Monster's headphones.
To review - one of the best values in earbuds if you can find them under $60. If you spending more than that get the AKG K350's or NuForce NE-700's. -
Great sound quality. Clean bass mids and treble.
by killgja on September 21, 2012
Pros: Sound quality and available earpieces to ensure proper fit.
Cons: Heavy. I often find myself looping the cord over my ears for comfort due to their weight. They are however made of metal not plastic like many other cheap headphones. I wouldn't however buy these for kids.
Summary: Great overall once the right earbuds are chosen. Clean across the full sound spectrum and do not require you to turn the volume up to hear the little sounds. Not ...
Summary: Great overall once the right earbuds are chosen. Clean across the full sound spectrum and do not require you to turn the volume up to hear the little sounds. Not bass heavy like many of the headphones available these days. Sound quality better than beats pros and the small sport beats headphones although not as comfortable for long term wear.

Get better with time

Pros: Great for MP3 player upgrade, unsurpassed service from Monster if needed
Cons: There's a learning curve using them to reach the best performance from them.

Summary: Music should sound the way it's made. Good recordings are very good and these are accurate enough so less good quality is revealed. Generally not an issue however. All ear buds take getting used to. You have to allow a "break-in" period for your ears. Initially you will discover these fall out of the ears too easily with the tips provided. There is an assortment of tip sizes provided. Follow the directions and find your individual fit and they become comfortable and sound good. In fact if you don't get a complete seal in the ear canal the sound suffers noticeably. I went after-market and use Comply T-400 foam tips and all initial objections to the Jamz disappeared. These are not meant to stuff the ear canal like other products. In fact the use of the foam tips should only seal the outer section of the ear canal. While this may seem counter intuitive, this works best. See Shure's web page on their SE series as they have a great video on proper use of these tips. Now completely comfortable, they stay put and are almost unnoticeable in the ear. Isolation from external noise is quite satisfactory and you can enjoy all the music at low volumes even in crowded locations. The buds loosen up after 40 plus hours of listening becoming better and better. Compared to units costing 2 to 3 times as much they are noticably less opened sounding and some of the mids are more subdued but if this is an upgrade they're so good you won't notice. My first pair quit after 4 months. Monster replaced them quickly and this pair seemed improved right out of the box compared to the returned pair. Again this is subjective and the difference was only marginally better. If you drive these guys at higher volumes more goodness is revealed and there is no distortion. Bass is adequate unless you want a lot of punch. These are not the smallest in ear buds so don't plan on sleeping on them. Overall these are nicely balanced, well made and should not disappoint. I'm satisfied with overall value returned for the price.

Great sound, poor quality
by Sully369 on February 12, 2011
Pros: Great sound- I like to hear details in the mids and highs and don't like to be drowned out by bass.
Cons: Somewhere between 1 and 2 hours of listening, one ear will go silent, followed shortly after by the other ear. This has occurred with multiple music players. The phone are only good for the first week or so of use.
Summary: I am now on my 3rd pair of headphones and still experiencing the same problems. I exchanged the first pair with Best Buy. Unfortunately, I blamed the problem with the ...
Summary: I am now on my 3rd pair of headphones and still experiencing the same problems. I exchanged the first pair with Best Buy. Unfortunately, I blamed the problem with the second pair on my music player, until I used a brand new MP3 player and had the same problem again. Since that took more than 30 days, I warrantied that pair directly with Monster.
While waiting on my third pair, I went back to my trusty old Sennheiser buds and never had an issue with the sound on any of my MP3 players for any length of time. I was hoping to replace them with the Jamz because I hate the offset cord they use.
I've been happily using my third pair for the last week. And now today I got that all-too-familiar sound of silence after 75 minutes or so of listening. Three strikes, they're out!
Regardless of sound quality, I could never recommend something with such poor performance to anyone. I'm most disappointed that it's been too long to get my money back from the original retailer and feel stuck in an endless warranty loop. -
Best headphones yet
by revomonster on January 29, 2011
Pros: Amazing sound. Great value for price. I can hear things that I have never been able to hear before with an earbud. Great fitting.
Cons: No cons at all.

Summary: I have broken fifteen pairs of headphones in the past two years. I bout these, and they are very durable, because they have a full metal design, and the sound is absolutely amazing. These can recreate the sound very well for something in this price range. When i first opened up the earbuds, I put them in my ear and they worked perfectly. The seal is amazing. I can not hear anything when I put both of these on.

First One I bought SUCKED
by rocksinger45 on July 30, 2010
Pros: I really like the full body sound I get from these phones, open nice soundstage and the price was right $$$
Cons: On my first pair the left side kept on going out on a long plane trip to Tokyo...when I returned I called Monster and they sent me a new pair....what a drag to be stuck with those airline headphones.
Summary: I like them but beware of Monsters quality control...I had a lot of down time in between headphones

JAMz in short are Balanced Bass Babies value-for-money!
by Kendric-Luine on July 23, 2010
Pros: - Pleasant Hammering Sensation and Tight Bass
- Distortion-Free Highs and Mids
- Chrome Finish makes them excellent stylish accessories too
- Definitely one of the best IEMs within the price range
- Easy-Going with majority of EQ and AmpsCons: - Patience and Techniques are required to get a good noise-isolating fit
- Sound Stage could have been better
- Unfriendliness to most other brand's earbud ; An obvious diminish in volume can be noticed if you try to pair it with other brands' earbudSummary: Like i summarized in the Pros and Cons,

The first impression of JAMz is that the earbuds really needs some work such as slow insertion to feel the suction coming before you give it a slight tug to allow the Earbuds to display their actual capabilities of noise-isolation.
Bass - Very air-tight, if you blast songs like dance beats and techno etc, you would definitely feel the tight bass giving a pleasant sensation like a dynamic hammer-knock on your ear-drums, making this a very good budget IEM for dance-beat lovers.
Treble - Highs are as claimed, Clear and Distortion-Free even when blasting at high volume, with a slight laidback tinge of brightness
Mid-Range - Mids were equally Clear and Distortion-Free, Under the circumstances without any EQ adjustments, Vocals could be heard blending into the instruments, but slightly more forward at the same time.
Clarity - No qualms about it, From the Guitar-Plucks, the hissing taps of Cymbals to the punchy drums, all were presented by JAMz as a pleasant and comfortable harmony.
Compatibility - Mixes easily and strongly with most EQs and Amps than many regular IEMs does, especially on some of the Portable Players, Jazz-Oriented EQ Setting works miraculous wonder for JAMz and conceals up several minor flaws the JAMz possess in terms of sonic performance.
---
Fit - It can be difficult to get a good fit, since not everyone would really know or bother to slowly insert it into the ear for slight suction and then giving it a gentle tug to allow JAMz's Earbud to showcase the noise-isolation capabilities that they actually possesses, which affects the presentation of its signature bass a lot.
Incompatibility - to a whole lot of other brands/types of ear-buds though i only experimented with the Flanges, where you will be able to notice an unpleasant drop in clarity and volume when you use other brand's flanges on JAMz, Which means if the stock-buds goes awry, one will have to take quite some time to find an alternate substitute for your pair of JAMz
Rooms for Improvement - especially Sound Stage wise could have been better, since the balance between High to Low , Clarity and Bass are present, a tweak of EQ and a performance boost from the amp will more or less resolve this issue though.
Final Bottom-Line = Good-Value High Performance IEM which i will definitely recommend to my friends.

There's gonna be a huge smile on your face the first time you plug in and listen to your Jamz. Punch. Deep deep bass. Crystal Clear Highs. You'll hear stuff you never heard before. Sound quality like this has never been achieved in an in ear headphone at anywhere near this price. Thanks to new technologies you can have it all. Plus, a beautiful chrome finish not only makes them look like jewels, but it's scratch resistant so they'll always look like the day you bought them. You'll be amazed what you can get for a fraction of the price of other high-end headphones. These heavyweight gems are solid for a reason. Unlike inexpensive plastic buds, Jamz are made of solid metal that doesn't resonate, so all you hear is the music, with no artificial resonances that take away from the sound. That's why the sound is razor sharp and the bass is super tight. Also, these little babies are nearly indestructible. Making Jamz a part of your life is going to be best thing that's ever happened to you and your music. Jam On!
