unmatched quality that I didn't even know existed
by nintendude7cubed on September 3, 2008
Pros: The best sound I've ever heard (and i've heard my share) in any pair of headphones coupled with the perfect amount of isolation that is actually really good for not needing batteries.. oh and the stereo/mono switch is pretty cool (not a dj)
Cons: They are just slightly uncomfortable but they say you need to get out of your comfort zone to make good friends, why not do the same for sound... I just got these, so i haven't experienced breakage yet but i worry because of what they say.
Summary: Bottom line, BUY THESE!!! they are absolutely the epitomy of quality in pretty much every way shape and build! Plus with these being headphones, all i can say is that ...
Summary: Bottom line, BUY THESE!!! they are absolutely the epitomy of quality in pretty much every way shape and build! Plus with these being headphones, all i can say is that you need to hear these for yourself to be the judge. but as a rio karma owner (who can adjust the sound to whatever he wants), I don't think there is any better of a pair of devices. If you use an ipod, I'm not promising anything (i say this for all of my headphone reviews). As for specs, i don't get much into that even though the one thing i do know from comparison, 50mm is pretty much the biggest you can get in drivers and not many headphones can even get close to 107db wheras pioneers claim they can (I haven't tried for the sake of my ears). as for power, i'm really shocked... On my rio karma, I'm at 14 notches! to give you an idea, the skullcandy earbuds needed 16 to get as loud and the skullcandy G.I.s (i was into the cheap skull candys before these) need 20 whole notches. Very impressive i have to say. I am saying this all even while listening to these right now as i type. I've had them for less than a day so they aren't even broken in yet.. they say allow like 8 hrs or so to break in the drivers so that means they aren't even at their peak yet. I am much looking forward to the many months of listening ahead of me with these.
Well its been like 2 months now and they haven't broken yet because i cared for them with that risk in mind.. I gotta say these sound even better now that they're broken in and I absolutely will never find anything better. I can almost not even tolerate any less anymore. I tried listening to earbuds after not having done so in like 8 months and i couldn't stand the sound. I even put on a pair of bose headphones that were triple the cost of these and they were bloody aweful. I really don't know what the hype is on those. Anyway in these 2 months I have tweaked the eq to bring out the bass and it is not at all muddy or "Farty" i guess some people say. Of course i can get the player to distort it if i want but by then the bass would be high enough. I gotta admit the cord can be annoying when i'm sitting on the bus, however, i think its possible to replace with a straight one, but i don't think it pays. Finally as for comfyness, you get used to them and now i can wear them for hours...

Summary: near perfect sound i have gone thru no less than 120 something pairs of headphones sony, kenwood, jvc, denon, recon, aiwa, bose, koss, pioneer, altec lansing, logitech, etc, etc. these have excellent bass and trible sound.they are a little bigger than i expected, need some breaking in time on the ears.really cool design, however the plastic ball joint on the phones that allows the tilt and fold does look very fragle i recommend extreme caution when folding and storeing them. buy the extended warrenty if your the type thats ruff with headphones and fill out the warrenty registration card. never the less i always find something wrong with every pair of headphones i buy thats why i buy so many.i still love these ones.

WORST HEADPHONES EVER
by icebeat1 on January 15, 2013
Pros: Sound was amazing, tight bass. High fidelity in my opinion, although they are meant to phatten the bass
Cons: The design is utterly stupid and I can't believe I didn't see it coming. The left "hunger" broke at the pivot point, which is the part that holds the speaker to the headband. Due to the pressure at the pivot, they should have made it out of metal.
Summary: I am VERY disappointed in Pioneer and further disappointed that they have been ignoring my emails about repair or spare parts. I was once a fan of them, but now ...

good overall
by dalcolenon on July 9, 2009
Pros: Good head phones lasted 1.5 years.. good sound block out good range of sound...before i bought them i read a review that they broke at the plastic swivel joints. so i duct taped up the swivel joints... but thats not were they broke
Cons: Stereo mono switch, broke after 12 months and had to use mono only sound would go in and out sometimes on mono. takes a while to get used to ears squashing. i accidentally dropped them then they stopped working altogether.
Summary: stereo mono Switch not really needed broke first then i dropped them could be more durable for $265 AUD

Great pair of DJ headphones
by jaydaddyg on July 7, 2009
Pros: They are extremely durable as i've not only brought them from gig to gig, but I have excersized with them and even dropped them on numerous ocassions. The sound quality is impecable, especially if you like to hear a nice clear bass.
Cons: Carrying case isn't very protective, but they still hold up.

extreme frequency responce as well as high volume output
Pros: sleek design freq response of 5 to 30,000 Hz capable of hitting 107 dB/mW with minimal distortion comfortable durable - they've lasted me about a half year of constant use
Cons: a bit pricy
-
Great if you like buying new cans every other month!
Pros: Amazing sound when they work.
Cons: Wire gets crushed everytime you adjust the headphones. It's only a matter of time before they will die. Best bet...take them back now, while they are still under warranty. I've had two pair of these in the last year. Same problem with both, plus I've read
