  exceptional sound..more comfortable than previous model

  Pros: well balanced and detailed, clear sound
  smaller in size; better fit than the predecessor (SE530)
  detachable/replacable cable
  good noise-cancelling

  Cons: although they made improvement, it is not the most comfortable

  Summary: I am a serious classical musician and I recommend this product without hesitation.
  The sound is unbeatable. I contently use it to listen to symphonies, opera, solo and chamber music etc.
  The noice-cancelling is also great. I can't stand the excessive noise from trains, airplane..
  The cable is replacable which means you do not need to spend another $500 everytime it breaks.
  It is not the most comfortable but it is definitely improved. Once you get used to it, it will not be an issue.
  Trust me, I am INSANELY picky.

  Overall, great sound but high static when using gym.

  Pros: quality sound

  Cons: too much static related problems and no easy way to find a repair shop to fix them.

  Pros: Terrific lows and highs, excellent sound isolation, great fit.

  Shure Approaches Perfection (Professionals beware)

  Pros: Comfortable, great sound quality and range, styling, sound isolating

  Summary: These earphones are truly a work of art. The detail throughout the entire audible spectrum is impeccable. Crystal clear treble, warm mids, and deep natural bass. The bass was a little strange at first; I am used to only hearing top of the line subwoofers reach these notes, and hearing them without feeling the rumble was alien. Also the sound isolating is very impressive. I haven't taken them on a plane yet, but have had a few fly over my head while wearing the earphones. When the planes were overhead, I could barely detect engine roar with the volume turned down. When the volume was raised to a moderate listening level, the jets were not at all audible. If you have the budget for these, you will not be disappointed.
  
  One important note for professionals: If you are looking at these to edit videos/songs you may want to consider the SE425 instead. The 535s are incredible earphones; but due to their extra miniwoofer, the sound is a little warm colored. for critical listening, I've heard the 425s are extremely accurate. The 535s are simply modified 425s to produce a more enjoyable listening experience.

  Incredible sound; rather uncomfortable.

  Pros: Detailed sound: I was hearing faint cymbals and background instruments that I had no idea were in the mix.
  Rich sound: Great mids! Makes the music sound fuller and warmer.
  Replacable cable was a main selling point for me. I'll have these for years!

  Cons: My biggest problem with these: discomfort.
  May desire amplification.

  Summary: I previously owned the Klipsch S4s and I often poked fun of their great patent of oval ear tips, having spent 3 years of research to figure out that ear canals were oval. But now I realize how great that design is. I have tried all the included tips from Shure and none but the smallest rubber one could provide a good seal and comfort, and even that was still very uncomfortable. I proceded to use Klipsch's oval silicon tips which felt great, but since they were not designed for the Se535 they lack in sound quality. My only hope lies in the Comply T-100 foam tips I ordered, which are on their way. Of course, I am probably the minority. I have heard very good things about Shure's earphones' comfort.
  
  As for sound quality they're perfect. I was using cheap 30 dollar in ears when I got the Klipsch S4s after reading good reviews. That was a HUGE step up in sound quality, I was amazed. And now I got my Se535s and I am once again amazed. I have had my eyes opened (or rather, ears) again to another new world of sound quality. Though of course, for me, the great sound is only in short bursts as the eartips are uncomfortable.
  
  The mids of the Se535s was like hearing mids for the first time. I had no idea how full, rich and warm music can be. The sound was just so THERE. The bass in not overpowering, tight, and free of distortion. There is an adequate amount of it for any genre: hip hop, rock, metal, classical, etc.
  
  As for amplification, any headphone, even low power ones would benefit from an amp. These do not need amplification but really would benefit from having one due to the triple driver design. My PCs sound card makes the Se535 sound far fuller than coming straight out of my iPhone 3GS. The iPhone sound is thinner in the low end and mids, though nonetheless still sounding great. This difference between a higher powered PC sound card and a portable device is far less pronounced in the other earphones and headphones I have used.
  
  In all, it's flaws are discomfort and amplification. I am slowly adjusting to the eartips as they do seem considerably more comfortable than when I first got them a few days ago, and my Comply tips are on their way. Amplification I can deal with. They don't require amplification and sound great without it. But I personally think this would benefit more from amplification than others.
  
  I bought this because I wanted the best consumer earphones availiable, and I wanted to have them for a long time (replacable cables as the cables are usually the first to break).

  Connectors are junk, poor customer support

  Summary: Tried to reconnect the left bud several times and still had a bad connection that was also a little loose since receiving them 4 months ago. Finally lost the left bud. Be careful if these are for daily use. Mine were basically for air travel( about 6 flights a month). Poor response from Shure and wasn't even given the option to buy just a single replacement bud. Look elsewhere and forget the quick disconnects which were invented because they couldn't produce quality wires for their buds.

  Pros: awesome sound that amazes-no way will regular earphones ever do again...hear what your music is supposed to sound like

  Incredible Detail.

  Pros: For classical music there is none better. You can hear every page turn on the conductors podium. No detail is missed and the soundstage is brilliant and amazing. The fit and comfort.

  Cons: For rock music etc. they are a little lacking. The base is not quite deep enough. I would recommend the E300 series.

  Summary: No need to waste your time with a long drawn out summary. As stated if you enjoy brilliant classical then these are the best I have ever owned hands down. The piano sounds like it is right in front of you. These pick up the subtle and gentle nuances that any other headphone completely misses. The response is somewhat flat, and that is why they are perfect for classical music. For the other types of music where great base is required, I recommend the 300 series. They are amazing also.
