Sony Clip-on Headphones (Blue) price range: $21.49

The good: Exceptional bass presence; clear midrange and treble; bandless earclip design; braided cord with an extension.
The bad: No carrying case; no replacement earpiece pads.
The bottom line: The three Q55SL earclip 'phones emphasize style without sacrificing performance.
Sony has expanded the concept of headphones as fashion accessories with its Elements Of Style MDR-Q55SL models, part of the company's Wear line. The AIR version is targeted at the "hip-hop and rock lifestyle," but aside from its blue color, its external design accents, and its marketing hype, it's identical to its gold LQD and silver SLD siblings. All three are earclip headphones that deliver solid performance and especially impressive bass response. They retail for $30.
At about 20 inches, the braided cable is fairly short, so there's no slack when you hook up the headphones to a portable audio player's in-line remote. If you don't have that accessory, a provided extension cord increases the length enough for direct connection. The package doesn't include extra foam earpiece pads, so if the existing set suffers wear and tear, you're stuck with it. You don't get a carrying case, either.
To enhance bass response, Sony gave each driver casing a port--a trait borrowed from stereo loudspeakers. The design decision was a good one; these headphones deliver considerably more bass than typical portables. The robust kick drum in Alice DeeJay's techno track "Better Off Alone" was tight and didn't easily distort, even at loud volumes. And the kick drum, the vocals, and the melodic elements all had adequate breathing room in the mix, thanks largely to the Q55SL's relatively airy sound.
Though a bit snugger than the clips of some similar models, the Q55SL's aren't too tight, and we found the fit comfortable. Plus, the driver casings' lightweight design kept the 'phones from tugging our ears too much during physical activity. Anyone with earbuds that pop out of place at inopportune moments will appreciate these traits. All in all, these modestly priced Sony headphones are an especially good choice for bass aficionados on the go.

Versatile Headphones!
Pros: Really good design, good bass output, good sound quality, light, good for excercising in some cases.
Cons: After prolong use, ears tend to hurt, not good if you wear beanies, hardcore sports use is a no-no.

Sound is great
Pros: These headphones have great sound and get very loud. Lightweight and semi comfortable.
Cons: If your running or wearing the headphones for a long time they begin to hurt a little bit. And if you run they bounce some and can flip off.

Really Good For the Price

Pros: Quality sounds; good bass; comfortable clip-ons that stay put
Cons: No replacement ear buds; extension cord too long; main cord too short

Summary: I've been using these headphones since 2004 when I bought an iRiver iFP-799 player and ditched the headphones the player came with, and I swear by them. I dig the fact that it clips on my ear so it stays in all kinds of conditions, especially when I go to the gym or run. Sound quality is great, and the bass comes through.
When I finally bought an iPod last year, I only had the player for a couple of months before I decided that I needed a fresh set of earpads. Since I can't get them separately, I decided to buy a new pair of the same model, and found it at a local Sears store. I'm stunned that for all of the advances in headphones in recent years, it seems like sports headphones technology hasn't advanced too far. I'm really pleased that Sony is still putting out this workhorse.
As the reviews state, the headphone's cord was a bit short; it should be at least half a foot longer. The extension cord was way too long, so I ended up buying a short half-foot extension with volume control from Radio Shack and it works nicely.
I'll probably buy noise-canceling headphones in the future, but I think for an all-around sports (and home) environment when I'm on the move it's good to have the headphone open-air so that I can hear my surroundings when need be.
My two cents. -

Summary: These headphones are great if you are looking for small, inexpensive headphones with good quality. However they are hard to get them to stay on. Also, the cord legnth can be annoying because the only way it's long enough is with the extension, which makes the whole cord too long.

Great quality, bad if you exercise heavily...
Pros: The bass and treble and just general sound quality are incredible for the small size. They are also lightweight and fairly comfortable once you get used to them. Fairly good price.
Cons: These headphones can be uncomfortable at times, and if you exercise heavily, they will flap around, which will make it hard to listen.

Above average sound quality
Pros: Good sound quality small form factor
Cons: Extended usage becomes uncomfortable with hard plastic clips
