Marketed for the iPod, work great with the iPhone too
by derekalv911 on December 29, 2009
Pros: Solid sound for this price point; you won't be disappointed with what you're hearing. Excellent noise isolation and comfortable fit. Fit the recessed headset jack on iPhone 2G (if you still have the 2G)
Cons: The noise isolating cups tend to transfer the sound of the cord rubbing against your clothing. Weird, but it can actually be quite loud, as if you were rubbing the surface of a stethoscope against cloth. Not all brands do (JVC Marshmallows)

Summary: As I do with most things, I was doing extensive research to find some earbuds to replace my worn out stock iPhone headset. I listen to music on my iPhone as well, so the buds had to be pretty decent in that regard as well. I went out on a limb buy these, as there was no review of them in particular, but knowing that Sony makes good buds at this price point eased my concerns. After getting them, the first thing I did was made sure they fit in the iPhone 2G jack. They do. Secondly, I checked the fit. Also good. If you push them way into the ear canal they REALLY block external sound, but the pressure build-up against the skin will be noticeable and need to be relieved after an hour or so.
As for the sound, it's good. The bass is there, and more-so after adjusting equalizers, but it doesn't bump as loud as I'm sure the MDR-EX85's do. That's not a big deal to me, as heavy bass in earbuds worries me, and I don't need bass-heavy voices when I'm on a call. I can't say that these are the absolute best in this price-range, but I can say you won't be disappointed; in the end, that's what really matters, right? You can definitely hear a wider range of sounds than with the stock buds, making a it a pleasure to listen to subtleties in your favorite songs that you may have missed before.

by ericthai on August 19, 2010
Pros: sounds just great tons of bass and treble it truly lives up to its 6-23khz freq response, full functiong remote (volume, ffwd, rwd, pause & play), work on other devices like other mp3 players, laptop, plane plugs etc, nice long cord, good mic too!
Cons: looks kind of cheap (i got the black ones) remind me of the free ones they give away on airplanes - get the white ones

Summary: i got this primarily for my iphone 3gs. The standard iphone head set does not have the insulating rubber cushion so there is alot of interference from the surrounding noise, also it lack bass and the cord were way too short. I take the iphone to the gym with me, this gym got those cardio machines with tv screens that you need to plug your headphone in for it to come on. The machines will not fit the iphone's headphone jacks, so you really need to have two set of headset with you. Those of you that own iphones will notice the same problem with audio jacks on airplanes and other audio devices. So im searching for an all purpose headphone that works on all devices that sound great, have a mic and a remote control. This little Sony headphone does all of it and then some! I got it on sale at best buy for only $31. It comes with a carrying case and 3 sets of rubber ear plugs. The sound is amazing rich bass and clear treble. Remote works great and the mic sound very clear according to people I was talking to. I got the black color set. The only complain I got for it is that it looks kind of cheap stringy black wires remind me of the freebies head they give away on air plane rides.

Can't go wrong for the price!
by JohnnyIron on March 13, 2012
Pros: They have pretty good sound for the price range. The controls work good operating my iPhone or my iPod, and sound quality on a phone call is great. It's nice to be able to answer a call while listening to music without removing head phones etc.
Cons: The small screen on the end got plugged with wax and since I could not get it clean, I took it out and they sound great again but now the inner portion is not protected like it was.
Summary: I don't believe I have more wax in my ears then the next guy, but I would assume this is an issue on any ear-bud you push into your ...

Summary: I don't believe I have more wax in my ears then the next guy, but I would assume this is an issue on any ear-bud you push into your ear. I cannot stand the iPhone/iPod standard headphones and they make my ears hurt. These are comfortable, sound great, and are reasonably priced. Can't go wrong for the price!

Much better then stock!
by MatthewJKirk on February 23, 2011
Pros: Black (AKA mug-proof), In-Line Remote WITH Volume (not just Answer/End/Play/Pause/Etc), Sound Isolation (greate for the bus), Good Price (relatively speaking).
Cons: Why did it have to be so hard for me to find something like this, in this price range? (Not really a con for this item.)
Summary: I've been looking for a replacement to the iPhone stock earphones for a while. I wanted them to be black (because some theives target white earphone wearers), with an ...

Summary: I've been looking for a replacement to the iPhone stock earphones for a while. I wanted them to be black (because some theives target white earphone wearers), with an in-line remote which also did volume (why loose functionality?), sound isolation (because I ride a noisy bus almost every day), and a reasonable price (because I didn't want to pay $70+ for little ear phones!). These fit the bill perfectly. The only problem was finding them... I accidently found these at Radio Shack, they kind of hit me in the face... My first reaction, "Are you kidding me? It was that easy?" I've been searching on CNet's and others' websites for a long time, and every time I'd find something it was $70-$150.... Now, I like my music, but I'm not an audiophile (I don't have the wallet for it). So, these were perfect for me. They work greate, sound nice, and deliver on everything I was looking for. They'd get 5 stars if they had concert-quality audio for $40, but I love them.
