Very comfortable

Summary: I wear ear phones at work and sometimes when I sleep. Other earbuds gave me headaches, especially when I wear glasses, but this set never does. I don't turn up the volume loudly, so sound quality is fine. I've accidently jerked the cord out of my mp3 player several times, and it's holding up well. When the rubber inserts come off (from accidental jerking), they easily pop back on. This is a great product for my use.

My number 1
by teruel1 on November 23, 2007

Summary: I have had this pair of headphones for 2 years now and just recently had to buy some new ones because my cat got ahold of my other pair, but i quikly went to bestbuy and found the same pair and i'm sticking to them until they die or my cat gets them again. They could be a little strong in the since better highs and a stronger bass, but they are very good for their price and size. I may go and get a pair Shure headphones, but 100 dollors is a bit much for me.

Great for the Price

Summary: For Under $35 I think these are going to be hard to beat. I tried the Sennheiser MX35 and 55, Skull Candy, and the JVC and Phillips Buds in the same price range. They all have there merits but for all around sound quality these are the best. It's worth mentioning that these need to fit your ears properly. They come with 3 sets of inserts. They are very comfortable.
I referenced them to my Sennheiser HD 650 headphones. I'm a bit spoiled and I have a discriminating ear. Base boost doesn't trick me.. and these buds will play base at a refined and appropriate level. That said... if you're the type of person that likes base rattling your windows you won't like these.
What surprised me the most was the clarity and detail. I have at least 20 sets of headphones and my Sennheiser 650 is the only set that surpasses these. Sound quality is highly subjective, however.. I think that these are by far the best earbuds under $50. (I didn't check out V-Moda or the Sennheiser 300) If you listen to rap or techno you may want to look elsewhere. They're not perfect, they are cheaply made and don't look like they'll last for more than a couple years. But for $30 I'm not complaining. -

Summary: I have been using these Sony headphones for about 2 years now and I'm happy with them. I wouldn'y mind a pair of Schurr headphones but I don't have $$$$$$$ to spend on them. These Sony's have been abused quite a bit and they still perform very well. Bass can be flat sometimes and can get distorted with a tune with heavy bass.

Good For The Price

Pros: Great Sound When Inserted In Ear Properly

That being said the challenges are:
1) Lack of adequate documentation. It should have been a priority for Sony to explain how these work and exactly how to insert them in your ears. Becasue there is no real included guide, many people do not understand how to use these, and therefore get terrible sound.
Many here have described the correct way to use them, follow those instructions.
They do muffle a substantial amount of Ambient noise, the sound is good, the price is right, go for it.
One thing I found the Ex71Lp - a better product. It uses the same drivers, but the housing for the "earbuds" is made of soft flexible rubber, and it is much easier to work with an position in the ear. Prices have really come down on these. -
Nice headphones for the bass lover but quality is questionable
by a-k-a-l-l-e-n on January 20, 2007
Pros: Thin, Quiet, Behind neck cord, Different Pieces
Cons: Shredding Cord, Bass, You can hear your self [cough. breathe, sneeze, ect.]

Summary: These things are not your premium headphones but they're not the wost you can get. The three little ear-pieces are sort of cool but you'd need to check out all of them. I eventually found that the medium ones it shipped with are the right ones for me. They are also very good with overall sound. And remember to put the cord behind your neck, as the cord will be annoying otherwise...

Summary: Bought these to replace the headphones that come with the iPod. They're a great replacement, especially for the price. The sound quality is excellent and well balanced between the highs and lows. They block out ambient noise like nobody's business (just got back from riding BART through the Transbay Tube and couldn't hear a thing except music - anyone in the Bay Area knows how loud that journey is). Had no problems at all with them staying in my ears - fit snugly but didn't hurt even after several hours' use.
There's just one small downside: apparently someone at Sony thought it'd be a good idea to make the left ear cord about 4 inches long and the right ear about 2 feet long.
Why?
I don't know anyone whose left ear is on the side of their pelvis, so what is the point? When i'm waering these, the longer cord hangs way down, then loops back up to my ear. C'mon Sony, that was just dumb. If it wans't for this problem, I give this product a solid 9.
