The good: The Sony MDR-NC7 Noise Canceling headphones are very affordable and the earpads are soft. Package includes an airline adapter and a travel pouch, and the headphones are nice-looking.
The bad: The headband of the Sony MDR-NC7 Noise Canceling headphones tends to chafe, and bass is lacking. Noise canceling isn't the most effective we've heard.
The bottom line: The Sony MDR-NC7 Noise Canceling headphones are an OK option for travel fiends operating on a strict budget.

Less than exciting sound quality
by mld71 on February 6, 2009
Pros: They are stylish and comfortable on the ears.
Cons: The sound quality isn't so great and the plastic headband is annoying and slides around on my head.

Summary: I'm a train commuter and was looking for a relatively inexpensive headphone to hook into my iPod during my commute. The local Radioshack has a fairly limited selection of headphones, but these looked like they might do the trick. I tried them out at a coffee shop and was immediately sorry I bought them. I was hoping for richer sound than what they provided. In fact, my Skull Candy earbuds sound better. So, with much sadness, I'll be returning them to the store.

OK for office and aircraft -- CNET eval is spot on
by flak4af on December 31, 2009
Pros: Cancels low freq noise in office, gym, vehicle. Reduces some aircraft cabin noise. Compact, inexpensive. Adequate quality for casual listening. On-ear (as opposed to fully enclosed) pots comfortable, less heat, moisture, etc.
Cons: Did not cancel enough aircraft engine and cabin noise to suit me.
Summary: I like the compact, inexpensive MDR NC7s and would buy again if had to replace. Useful for office, gym machines, when napping in vehicle on long trips (passenger only -- ...
Summary: I like the compact, inexpensive MDR NC7s and would buy again if had to replace. Useful for office, gym machines, when napping in vehicle on long trips (passenger only -- driver needs to hear everything!). However, my next purchase (after knocking off the local 7-11) will be the high-end, fully enclosed around the ear Bose with noise cancellation. Believe ears have to be fully enclosed to realize true noise cancellation in an aircraft cabin.

Son perfectos, solo no esperes muchos bajos de estos.
by MACALLUR on August 10, 2012
Pros: Son unos audifonos muy portables, y el largo del cable es perfecto
Cons: La bateria se llega a agotar rapidamente, o antes de lo esperado. Recomendaria usar pilas recargables.

Summary: I've had these for a while and I don't know if it's nust my headphones but inside each of the cans there is a small hard bump that places a great deal of pressure on the ear lobe. They are very uncomfortable for long periods of listening. I wouldn't recommend these to anyone. I've had many pairs of Sony headphones and these are by far the worst ones I've owned. Stay away.

Pretty Good head phones

If you listen to hip-hop, don't even consider these.
by jtreynol on September 5, 2011
Pros: None for my purposes, but your mileage may vary depending on what genre you listen to. I can imagine that they're decent for listening to voice only recordings.
Cons: Underwhelming sound and noise cancelling. Not particularly comfortable. Would be better served with similar costing headphones that don't have active noise cancelling feature.
Summary: If you primarily listen to hip-hop, r&b, or any other genre with similar audio qualities, then skip these altogether. Decidedly underwhelming sound and noise cancelling. Don't let ...

Don't let the allure of "cheap noise cancelling" headphones lead you to waste the time or effort. Returning to the store first thing in the morning.

Not bad for cheap

Summary: For the price I paid (about 50 bucks after tax) these are OK. They aren't super, but for the price, they are fantastic. If you know how to work an equalizer you can fix all those "no bass" problems everyone seems to complain about. The bass actually has no body until you turn on the "active noise cancelling" which doesn't really cancel noise anyway. What I did notice, is coming from my Skullkandy Hesh (which I strongly prefer) is that I didn't need to have my volume up as high to get the right feeling from my music. I cant emphasize the need for an equalizer enough, though. Albeit on WMP or your personal audio (phone, iPod, Zune) there are ways :)
Bottom line, pretty good but not outstanding. -
I'm taking these back
by sowhostosay on June 23, 2011
Pros: the cost is low (but who wants to throw good money after bad?)
Cons: no noise cancellation abilities at all; they are very uncomfortable to wear

Summary: I was hoping that these headphones would help washout some of the chit-chat noise at my office and they do absolutely nothing. I tried them at home and they couldn't even cancel out the noise of my neighbor's dog. In terms of comfort - they disappoint here as well since they apply too much pressure and are too tight on my ears to be comfortable for an extended time (i.e., >15 min of wear). Sadly, I'm taking these back.

Looks and feels great, but low volume and no bass
by bleak_hawk on April 22, 2011

Summary: I bought it to use with my iPod, which turned out to be a mistake as the output is pretty low, and I am having to crank up the volume of all songs using iTunes. The sound quality is not as good as I had expected, and even though I have not used to for long periods yet, I can see that they will hurt the ear. I would suggest going for something of a similar price, which goes around the whole ear, to give better clarity, comfort, volume and noise reduction.
