Pros: I love the design. They look elegant and stylish. This is exactly what I expected from company like Sony. They come with nice black leather case. The quality of sound is just great!
Cons: Nothing to complain about.
Summary: I've tried them in a plane and.... what a relief!!!! (Did we land already? ;-)) The quality of sound even in a lower volume is still great! The quality ...
Summary: I've tried them in a plane and.... what a relief!!!! (Did we land already? ;-)) The quality of sound even in a lower volume is still great! The quality of used materials seems to be better than in the headphones of other brands even the more expensive ones. I think this is one of my best purchase I ever made.
Pros: Vrey good sound, excellent noise reduction and high quality finish
Cons: Absolutely none at all

Summary: I started out by buying the much cheaper MDRNC6 model -- and what a mistake that was! While there was some noise reduction noticeable in the very low frequencies, this did not extend upwards enough to sufficiently quieten the motor sounds during a bus ride. Furthermore, I found the foam material in this sit on the ears model quite irritating after a short time. I must also mention the cheap looking/feeling build quality, too.
Fortunately, I was able to arrange a changeover to the MDR NC60 model -- and what a difference! I tested them with my mp3 player by walking onto the platform of a busy underground city train station and was able to listen to piano jazz at quite a low volume level with very little intrusion of outside noise.
These headphones have a full, rich sound, are comfortable to wear and have a good quality finish. They come with a substantial carry case, too.
Full marks then for the noise cancelling, comfort and build. 9/10 only because the sound is not quite as airy as an old pair of Sony headphones I have had for a long time, although the latter are not noise cancelling.
The above difference is only noticeable with direct comparison, though. Once settled in with the MDR NC60 model on, you won't be dissappointed!
Pros: great quality sound, louder then bose, does not interfere with cellphones and bose speakers do!
Cons: none to report as of now, the headset is slightly heavier then the bose however it is a great buy

Summary: when you are traveling using the bose speakers and your cell phone rings there is a very annoying loud interference with the speakers. THE SONY SPEAKERS DO NOT HAVE THIS INTERFERENCE. THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR SOMEONE WHO IS TRAVELING AND HAS A CELL PHONE.
I STRONGLY RECOMEND THESE HEADPHONES. I own the bose speakers as well and these are a better buy.
Cons: Not much of a noise cancellation, magnification of background conversations

Summary: What a disappointment! I bought these to isolate noise during flights, so I can work and rest as possible. One of the flights, I had two guys sitting behind me and talking to each other . Not very loudly, but with deep, low voices. When I turned the noise canceling on, this headset canceled all the airplane background noise, but did nothing to these guys voices. So, it had the opposite effect - I could hear them 100% better with these headphones! Wow! Even with music, it as terrible.
I also carry Shure e3c headphones. These do not have active noise canceling, but they almost cut out the noise and these guys (95% or so).
Next, I want to try Bose Quiet Comfort, since I need a bigger headphone set for travel.
