Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220 price range: $39.99

The good: The reasonably priced Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220 earphones offer good sound quality and excellent bass (if you can get a good fit). A protective carrying case is included. One version includes an in-line mic and call answer button for use with music phones.
The bad: The MetroFi 220 earphones won't be comfortable for all users; the earpieces have a bit of a cheap, plastic feel; and the cable is thin and tangle-prone.
The bottom line: The Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220 earphones are a good middle-of-the-road option thanks to their thumpy bass and solid overall sound quality, but be wary of fit and comfort issues.

220s are a good value with great sound - Bruce Palmenta
by brucepalmenta on December 30, 2010
Pros: I have the Superfi5 Pros which led me to pick up these for more active use - out of the box comfort, initially a little "boomy" but good mids and highs.
Cons: Cord is too short for my liking. Burn in period for at least 10 hrs of white noise for final bass review - though still very pleased.
Summary: All around good fit, quality and sound. Warranty for a year if something goes but I do not think it will.

Decent Earbuds from a great company
by mcharbeck on December 15, 2010
Pros: Comfort, good bass response.
Cons: Limited to no soundstage (separation), bass is a bit bloated

Summary: Logitech owns Ultimate Ears which makes some of the headphone / ear phone products going. These are a middle of the road offering which would satisfy most novice users. Very comfortable & stylish but sound is decent, not great. A bit muddy, mids / highs are just OK. Got mine for 29 on promo from Logitech and at this price they are a very good value. If paying full price consider other options such as Kilpsch mentioned by another reviewer or for a little more $ the Monster Turbines (which I also own) are simply amazing sounding but not as comfortable to my ears.

Disappointing build, sound quality
by jasonlenik on December 4, 2010
Pros: Cool silver-like design, easy to distinguish right and left with colors.
Cons: Sound is quite messy. Instrument separation very poor.
Summary: Although the MetroFI 220s might look like cool earphones, they don't offer the sound clarity they should in this price range.

Not as good as i expected to be
by Wendysuii on September 27, 2010
Pros: I really like the differentiation of right and left plug by color. Smart invention
Cons: I'm certainly disappointed with the sound quality especially for a product at this price. The quality of the sound is similar to the Sony headphone i had previously.
Summary: I tried comparing between the two at the same time and to my surprise they sounded almost similar from each other. Furthermore, the Sony headphone is slightly cheaper than Metrofi ...
Summary: I tried comparing between the two at the same time and to my surprise they sounded almost similar from each other. Furthermore, the Sony headphone is slightly cheaper than Metrofi 220 and it is less bulky and more comfortable. I would highly recommend you to get the Sony headphone model no:MDR-NX1/WHITE instead of the metrofi 220. check it out: http://reviews.cnet.com/headphones/sony-mdr-nx1-white/4505-7877_7-31322122.html?tag=rnav

Some of the best noise-isolating earbuds on the market.
by bravoghost on August 28, 2010
Pros: Clear trebles, solid middles, and full bass - the holy trinity. Stylish faux-chrome coating. Red tone on right ear-bud avoids searching aimlessly for the "R" and "L" letters. Changeable plastic/foam earpieces let you customize the fit to your ears.
Cons: Protective case is a little annoying, why not just build sturdier earbuds?
Summary: Definitely a must-buy. They're moderately priced, reliable, and deliver fantastic sound. What's not to love?

Excellent earphones, definitely recommended!!!
by Sacrafire on April 18, 2010
Pros: Good fit with awesome sound isolation. Classy, attractive and compact design. Non-rubbery, thick cord helps prevent tangles and feels much more durable than rubber counterparts. Unmatched sound quality for price range.
Cons: Takes a while to get used to silicon buds but this isn't much of a problem. Large price jump from the 170.

Summary: I'm quite particular with my choice of earphones and the standard pairs they offer with ipods, handphones and other mp3 players are simply junk, and total scrap compared to these. After using several other models to replace the above-mentioned earphones, namely the Razer Protone M100, V-moda Vibe, Sennheiser CX 300 and a number of Philips in-ears, this one stomps the competition flat. Indispensible on the train and other noisy environments. An awesome buy if you can afford it!

Great earphones..Worth Every Penny!!!
by Lopez07Si on December 17, 2009
Pros: Sound quality very crisp.I enjoy my music a lot more than with stock ipod earphones when riding train 2work. These are 10x better. They look great as well. short cord is a plus for me. & i love the plastic case. i can fit my shuffle in there as well
Cons: Took me a couple of days to get used to the silicone tips. Couldnt decide which size was more comfy. Small ones created better seal thus providing incredible clean bass.
Summary: Reasonably priced earphones that provide both style & performance in a compact & sleek design. Noise insulation is amazing when riding train. Blocks out about 90% of external noise....These ...

Summary: I'm a VERY picky headphone buyer. These buds just are simply the BEST bud earphones I have ever heard, period. And the fit is impeccable. Trust me. I've owned/tested plenty of the competitions' offerings and nothing compares. For good measure, I bought a pair of comparably Shure buds and the sound and fit just don't even come close. Amazing.
