The good: Improved sound; earphones fit securely and comfortably; protective carrying case included; "open" design has its appeal; pleasantly full bass; in-line microphone for cellphone use.
The bad: Fit may not appeal to everyone, especially those who prefer noise-isolating earphones; treble is a little on the harsh side.
The bottom line: The Bose MIE2/MIE2i headsets offer a good combination of comfort and solid sonics for the money.

Feels like sound isn't even coming from the headphones
by karnsa24 on December 14, 2010
Pros: I get scared every time I go to put on music in the library because I think its coming from my laptop. They are very comfortable and disperse pressure so they feel almost non-existent. The sound is amazing, sounds like it comes from full speakers.
Cons: The price is a bit extreme, but it is definitely worth it if you want to make an investment.
Summary: Bottom line, one of the best investments I've ever made (for the $130 dollar headphones and the $20 dollar protection plan, Best Buy). I was amazed when i played ...
Summary: Bottom line, one of the best investments I've ever made (for the $130 dollar headphones and the $20 dollar protection plan, Best Buy). I was amazed when i played the first song, and I am continuously amazed every time I use them. Extremely comfortable, don't come out when you run, you can't hear them from more than 6 inches away if you aren't wearing them. Alltogether, fantastic product.

Great for Running and Cycling
by cfivince on December 8, 2010
Pros: Secure fit for exercise. inline buttons feel solid. Mic is clear. Non-sound isolating allows for situational awareness. Great sound after EQ tweaking.
Cons: Pricey. Heavy on bass: EQ settings in iPhone4 (settings/ipod) fixed the sound it to my liking.. Case has no cable management.

Summary: Best earbuds that I've found for workouts. Tons better than standard iphone earbuds & much better than the apple sound isolating earbuds which I could never get to stay in while running and exaggerate the sound of breathing. Stayhear tips have a rock solid fit in the ear while exercising even when sweaty. They don't completely isolate you from the real world which is a plus for situational awareness.. Inline Mic works great, allows you to use voice control on Iphone4.

Great sounding bass, average build quality
by PeteHodsdon on September 25, 2012
Pros: -Bass is deep and rounded, I REALLY enjoyed the listening experience, though that's just my taste.
-Really comfortable, I have average sized ears and had no problems finding a fitting to suit.
-iPhone functionality is fantastic.Cons: -Cable quality isn't awesome: Susceptible to significant strain near the fittings (remote and earpieces), as the cable is so soft, bending leads to cracks in the cable insulation.
Summary: Really great sounding earphones. I found them to be perfect for taking calls, using Siri, and enjoying a range of music.

Less than a year and I had to put electrical-tape at the joints. I was taking good care of them too, so it's not just cable neglect! Really disappointed that after a year I'm having to get some new earphones.
I might give the MIE2i's another go, but I'm also considering the Klipsch Image S4i II which have just come out and look pretty good.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Great headphone with comfortable fit to your ears
by ComCw on January 14, 2011
Pros: Excellent sound quality as expected from Bose. The Secure fit really means what it said. It fits in my ears comfortably. I was so amazed with the bass when I played the first song. An excellent headphone for my iPhon4 with all the nice features.
Cons: A bit pricey as much as I enjoyed it.
Summary: Best headphone I've ever had and truly enjoy every minute of it !

Pleasantly surprising, great quality earbuds.
by elegantcaste on November 19, 2012
Pros: Bass is definitely prominent, but not overwhelming.
Treble is great. Not harsh.
Details are all there - you're missing absolutely nothing.
Earpieces are extremely comfortable.
Carrying case is spectacular.Cons: Sound leaks out of your ear.
They're not noise isolating (Stated on packaging, but it's worth noting).
A bit too expensive.Summary: The only real reason I gave these earbuds a 4.5/5 instead of a 5/5 is the sound leakage and non-noise isolation. The quality is phenomenal with each ...
Summary: The only real reason I gave these earbuds a 4.5/5 instead of a 5/5 is the sound leakage and non-noise isolation. The quality is phenomenal with each and every kind of music. I've tested these with everything - Nicki Minaj, Jim Croce, deadmau5, Chick Corea, Al Jarreau, All That Remains. They sound fabulous with everything. Clarity is exceptional and very impressive. The StayHear tips are really comfortable, to my surprise. When I bought these, I didn't figure I'd like the tips very much. They're soft and easy to put in the ears and they STAY IN MY EARS. I'm used to having my earbuds fall out even on car rides and the like - these stay in no matter what. It feels like you're in the studio with these earbuds. You can hear the layout of the drum kit, especially on fills. I'm very impressed with these. If you can afford the $129.99 price tag, I'd recommend getting these.

Simply the best in ear headphones, ever.
by eZaCx on May 13, 2012
Pros: - Great design (unique from other sort of standard headphones)
- Amazing sound, using various branded headphones, I can easily say that these have the best sound for in ears. You also get crisp bass.
- S/M/L Ear tips, instead of just one.
- COMFORT.Cons: - None I am aware of. I personally found the "cons" on the "official cnet" review tons of bullsh*t. They say the size may not fit all but bose offers SEVERAL ear tips unlike other brands. Not all headphones are sound isolating either. Treble is fine.
Summary: In summary, these headphones are worth the price. So comfortable that you cannot even realize they are in your ears after your music stops. Offering a case and a clip, ...
Summary: In summary, these headphones are worth the price. So comfortable that you cannot even realize they are in your ears after your music stops. Offering a case and a clip, it is easily portable and manageable while on the move. The sound quality is just amazing for it's in ear category, and cannot be beaten by any other crappy in ear headset which would easily come out of your ears (cough "sound isolating" in ear headset. Those especially do not fit everyone, unlike these.) I don't realize why these headphones didn't get a perfect 5/5, but I can assure the buyers it is perfect.

Comfortable, good quality, but mediocre EQ mixing.
by a5peters1 on May 4, 2012
Pros: Very comfortable.
Feel like you paid $130 for them.
Bass is full, rich, and percussive.Cons: Bass is half of what you hear. Upper-mids and highs aren't in balance.
Summary: Short version: if you like music with heavy bass (hip hop, house, techno, etc.), I promise you'll get all tingly in your stomach with excitement. But for those who ...
Summary: Short version: if you like music with heavy bass (hip hop, house, techno, etc.), I promise you'll get all tingly in your stomach with excitement. But for those who like music with a need for depth of sound (acoustic, folk, jazz, really anything other than hip hop and techno), you're going to be disappointed. The bass feels great. You can FEEL it as much as you can hear it. But the sound just isn't balanced.
I honestly feel that Bose should be a little embarassed to have their name on the package. I expect this from Beats by Dre, not from one of the best names in sound. -
Awesome headphones with quality you'd expect from Bose.
by chriseigle on February 20, 2012
Pros: Top notch sound quality. Very comfortable. Perfect for listening wherever you go. All buttons are easily accessible and function well. Secure tip is incredibly secure, perfect for running. For someone that LOVES music, they're the perfect investment
Cons: The price is too high. Yes Bose sets a high standard but no need for this high price .A notable con is the fact that the buds don't block out noise, so when you're on the subway or outside, you will hear the noise around you, but your ears benefit.
Summary: These headphones are awesome to say the least. I my honest opinion, if you just want a pair of good headphones and are really torn by the price, don't ...
Summary: These headphones are awesome to say the least. I my honest opinion, if you just want a pair of good headphones and are really torn by the price, don't get them. If price is not an issue or if these will be a big investment for you, by all means get these. They will last as long as you take care of them and they are perfect for every scenario. I care about the music I listen to and these highlight a lot of noise that other headphones manage to deduce. They are bose and they live up to their reputation. But do not be disappointed when they don't block out all noise unless you blast them, overall it becomes better for your ears. I have owned many headphones that act as earplugs that produce music, but that becomes bad for your ears. If you're. Music lover, buy em, if you just want good headphones and you don't care that much, don't just because they're Bose.

it is the best earphones i've ever own
by Darylblue on October 11, 2011
Pros: it fits perfectly and its so comfortable. i wasnt used to it in the beginning, but after a few days, it felt like heaven
Cons: it gets dirty fast i think. and the case isn't that practical to store your earphones, but if you store it with your iPhone or iTouch, its pretty handy.
Summary: its overall the best i have ever had! what you see is what you get! this is so much better than the others i have previously owned. this is AWESOME! ...
