The good: The Jabra BT160 comes with 33 different design faceplates, plus you have the option of designing your own. It has a flexible ear hook, a comfortable fit, easy-to-press buttons, and solid audio quality.
The bad: It takes a while to get the right fit with the Jabra BT160, and it doesn't sound great in noisy environments.
The bottom line: Besides offering decent audio quality and a comfortable fit, the Jabra BT160's multiple design faceplates set it apart from most other Bluetooth headsets.
Most Bluetooth headsets look the same, so when we see one that's eye-catching and attractive, we tend to take notice. Jabra got our attention last year with the JX10's sleek, silver design, and the company has done it again with one of its more recent headsets, the BT160. While its shape may not be anything new (indeed, it's very close to the Jabra BT350's), the BT160 is the first Bluetooth headset that comes packaged with 33 covers, each with different colors and patterns. The Jabra BT160 retails for $59, but you can get it for $39 after online discounts.
From Tango to Argyle, the 33 covers come in a variety of patterns and colors, and you can even go to Jabra.com to design your own for an additional price. We like the fact that Jabra offers plain color designs as alternatives to the patterned ones, just in case you want more conservative options. To switch designs, you simply remove a plastic covering on top of the headset, insert a new design, and replace the covering.
The Jabra BT160 looks a lot like the Jabra BT350, as previously mentioned. It has the same oval form factor, dimensions and weight (2.48 by 1.02 by 0.47 inches; 0.56 ounce), omnidirectional microphone, flexible ear loop, and controls. As with the BT350, the earpiece rests against the ear, so it took us a while to get the right fit. A couple differences are that the BT160 has a black body instead of a silver one. Please read our review of the Jabra BT350 for a more detailed roundup of the design aspects that remain the same.
We tested the Jabra BT160 with the LG CG300, and the pairing process was painless. Calls sounded good as long as the headset was positioned correctly, which as mentioned can take a while. Callers heard us loud and clear, though we had some problems in noisier environments. Aside from answering and ending calls, the BT160 supports voice dialing, last-number redial, and placing a call on hold. The Jabra BT160 has a rated talk time of 8 hours and a rated standby time of four days.

Pros: comfortable to wear, easy connect
Cons: bad on hearing caller if in stores, beep without reason, kept disconnecting and reconnecting on its own
Summary: Used it one full day, in a 24 hour period and returned it back to place of purchase, and purchased a motorola bt h700. Best Choice.

Summary: OK so originally I reaad all the reviews of this item on here, and saw that alot of people were bashing it. I must admit that it made me a bit apprehensive of buying it, but in the end, the price prevailed and I got it. Boy am I glad I did. I had no problems syncing to my Motorola Pebl once I went online and read the user manual instructions. I have no problems with the sound quality. The fit is slightly loose, but my ears are on the smaller side, and it is no looser than my wired plantronics headset at work (and the sound on this one is MUCH better). I have no problems with my power button. Now I don't consider myself a "power user" or "bluetooth fairy", I just kinda needed it for when I am driving or when I know my hands will be full, etc. It isn't for a business use or high call volume or anything. I just wanted a decent, inexpensive bluetooth headset for the general person, and that is exactly what this is. If you don't need this for constant business use, save yourself the money and go with this one. (And put the savings towards a new nintendo wii!)

Pros: It actually works! Various faceplates, fit, ease of use, placement of volume controls, price, you can wear it on either ear.
Cons: Sometimes, I get the snap, crackle & pop.

.
Anywho, amongs the pros I have listed above, I mention that you can wear this little doohicky on either ear. However, they do recommend that you wear it on the same side as the phone. I preferred to wear it on my left ear. But, I carry my bag (with my cellie in it) on my right side. It actually made a difference! The sound was clearer when I switched ears. It's easy as pie to answer and end calls (just hit the bottom of that slim, oval button) I didn't know about the faceplates when I made the purchase. That was a bonus & and half! The girlie-girl in me LOVES that! I can coordinate
. I've changed my cover to the lady bug design. The Lady Bug and the skulls are my current favorites.
I've only used it once outdoors and the party I was talking to sounded very low and this is with the volume on the headset all the way up. However, I was still able to hear them and they could hear me.
I still have to get used to putting it on. When it's on the ear correctly, it feels great and very secure. My husband has that Motorola headset. Ya know, the one you see everybody and their mother with. The times I've worn his headset, it felt as though it was just dangling from my ear. He has the same complaints about his Moto headset that I have about this one (static & low volume every so often). The only times I heard nothing but static and couldn't hear the caller at all was when I went more than 30 ft. from the phone. So, save yourself a couple of bucks and go with the Jabra BT-160.Updated
When I'd written my previous review, I'd only used my Jabra BT160 outdoors once. I used it often during the past few days and I'd just like to say that IT'S GREAT! Now, in my prior review, I'd said that the one time I used it outdoors, the sound was very low and I could barely hear the caller. This was with my Jabra bluetooth headset to my husband with his Motorola bluetooth headset. So, I don't know if bluetooth to bluetooth, it's bad. But, the times I used it this past weekend, it was to people using land lines and the calls were as clear as a bell. Okay, there was one call that had a bit of static, but we still heard each other. I have read complaints about this headset. Fortunately, I haven't been having the same problems. I think it's pretty darn good!1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: I been using in place of the Moto H500(pretty good)and it does the job. Light and comfy but not the battery champ or sound quality king but decent. The Moto H850 has a better battery and better noise supression but not as comfy and cost about 100.00 instead of 60.00(BT160). If your not a heavy user or drive with the window down give it a try.

Did not like it
by rvengosh on November 24, 2006
Pros: Cost, design

Outgoing sound quality was apparently not very good and the incoming quality was mediocre.
Turning this headset on or off means holding the power button down for 5 to 10 seconds, which is annoying. Everytime I recharged the unit, the power turned off when the unit was fully charged.
The power charging jack is poorly designed. It is hard to figure out which way it should go in.
The unit stopped recharging on me and died after 3 weeks.
The pluses.... it is small, looks nice and costs less than many other products on the market.

Whoever you're talking to hears EVERYTHING, LOUDLY!
by christyy247 on May 2, 2009
Pros: It easily fits on either ear, and has fun designs to switch out depending on your mood or style. Also, it's inexpensive (or cheap).
Cons: Certainly cuteness is not the most important thing in a Bluetooth. Sound quality is horrendous to the other person; it picks up all background noise. It doesn't stay on the ear, and sometimes disconnects from the phone randomly, even while talking.
Summary: I have had a difficult time enjoying this headset. The ear piece is pretty flexible, meaning you can put it on either ear pretty easily. However, it doesn't always ...
Summary: I have had a difficult time enjoying this headset. The ear piece is pretty flexible, meaning you can put it on either ear pretty easily. However, it doesn't always stay, and is a bit bulky. More importantly is the tendency for the headset to lose connectivity with the phone, at random. Sometimes I will be on a call and the headset signal disconnects from the phone and the caller is left to wonder why he/she can't hear me any more. Lastly, most of my calls are cut short because of the background noise on my end. The headset is like a stage microphone, picking up any sound near me and amplifying it, to the detriment of the person on the other end of the line. The low price comes at great cost.
