My opinion based off of all the others I've used

Summary: Ok, here is the real. I've used so many headsets that I began buying them just to find the best one. I became obsessed with buying headsets just to find one that worked as it should. I've used Jabra, Motorola, Sony, and others that just looked good. The Sony Ericsson HBH-660 was the only other that came close. The Motorola H700 was to staticky,(yes, that is a word), for my taste. Great design, but call quality doesn't compare with the JX10. I saw the box by surprise in Best Buy. I saw the price and said, "WOW! Dang that costs a lot!" So I bought it. I don't regret it one bit. It feels great, and the volume is terrific. You can turn it up so loud that it can even be too loud and hurt you; isn't that great? Size is super. No large appendage hanging off your ear. If this is your 7th or 8th headset, you'll appreciate this one. If this is your first, you'll have to go through a few more before you'll understand what I'm talking about. It’s pricey, but after you recycle your first two or three because they aren’t what you thought they were you'll regret not getting this one.

Jabra JX10 is a winner

Summary: GN Mobile A/S the owners of the Jabra name setout to design a Bluetooth headset that is fashionable without sacrificing performance. They succeeded with the Jabra JX10. As an owner of the Jabra BT250 (which is also a great headset) I was very anxious to try the JX10...my expectations were met and exceeded. The form factor is outstanding measuring just 1.5" in length and .75" in width. It can be worn with or without the ear hook. I suspect that wearing the JX10 without the ear hook may not provide a high sense of confidence (stability) when engaged in some activities. Another point worth mentioning is the JX10 packaging. A black box with silver accents incorporating a circular cutout showcasing the JX10 headset under a plastic window. Opening the Velcro fastened "fly panel" reveals the JX10 charging unit positioned just above the headset displayed in the same manner. All of this fanfare is a radical departure from the all plastic packaging of other Jabra BT headsets promoting an allure of opulence. The box measures approximately 8.5"(L) x 6.0"(W) x 2.25"(D). Other components found in the box is a carrying pouch, quick start guide, instruction manual, AC adapter and USB cable to charge the unit from a PC. Before using the JX10 you must charge it. The charging stand compliments the JX10 handsomely and is weighted to prevent it from sliding off your desk. This design again furthers the concept that one has purchased a quality piece of equipment. Curiously, if the JX10's battery is completely drained it takes about 2 minutes for the LED on the JX10 headset to glow "red" indicating that it is charging. I first thought I had chosen a bad outlet and switched to several others; and finally I thought maybe a defective unit. I decided to read the FAQ's on page 7 of the manual and this behavior is outlined therein. One would think this would have been addressed on page 3 under "charging your headset". After charging is complete the LED on the JX10 glows "green". Now you are ready to "pair" the unit using the dedicated "pairing button" (a nice feature) with your BT enabled phone and start talking. Another mention about the LED is that it warns you of a low battery (by blinking red) and of course it blinks "blue" when in standby mode. There are only 3 other buttons on the JX10 headset...talk, volume-up and volume-down each with international icon markings. The talk button is multi-functional in that it answers or rejects incoming calls, turns the unit on and off, places a call on hold, and activates voice dialing. Fortunately, it's big enough (the talk button) that even those with large fingers should not have a problem using it. The volume buttons may be more of a challenge. People to whom I spoke said my voice was clear with no echoes. I could still be heard with the A/C in my car running full blast and the CD volume turned up. I'm using it with a Nokia N90 phone on the T-Mobile network. I'm quite pleased with the JX10 and consider it an excellent investment.

Summary: When wanting to upgrade from the BT200, I first bought the BT800 with its multiple features, but it was too heavy and did not conform to my ear very well. I traded up to the JX10 and am very pleased. It is lightweight and very comfortable in either ear, with or without the earhook. I prefer wearing the headset with the earhook since I am afraid I will drop it without.
I do wish it had a few features of the BT800; mute button, vibrate, and longer battery life. The charging cradle is really cool and the USB charging cable is a real bonus for charging while on the go.
Overall, the engineering and styling is by far the best of class with exceptional sound quality. It would get a 10 if it were not for the battery life and have more features, not to mention the $$$.10 out of 10 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: The JX-10 was purchased to replace my Treo bluetooth headset. The JX-10 has superior sound quality and external noise cancelling abilities. The small size and minimal weight allow me to wear it all day without any pain or ear fatigue. I believe this is the best all around bluetooth headset available today. It also paired easily with my Treo 650.

Used with LG 9800 - disappointed

As ...Summary: I'm really disappointed this one didn't work out. It's so small and the design is very appealing. However, that is all it has going for it.
As mentioned, I am using it with my phone, an LG 9800 "v" phone.
What I liked:
It's small and appealing. The ear hook is great too. You can bend it and it will stay in any position that suits you.
What I didn't like:
The ear bud. The speaker/ear bud sits just outside the ear canal and is surrounded by rubber. The rubber isn't too soft and I found that after a bit my ear would hurt.
Sound quality. I can put the volume at around mid-point and it will sound ok, but won't be loud enough. Once I raise the volume after that, the sound quality is best decribed as listening to a person talk through a cheap speaker that cannot handle the power. A bunch of crackling sound is heard and even the people on the other end have a hard time hearing me because of the quality.
DSP. Um, it has this technology? It sure has me fooled. I tried the headset in the car with the windows down and with the radio on. I felt it was no better than the other bluetooth headsets I have tried that don't have DSP/noise cancellation.
Bottom line:
This may be a result of the phone I am using as bluetooth sets act differently with different phones. Perhaps it may work better for you. If you have an LG 9800, don't waste your time with this one. At this price you could buy 2-3 motorola headsets that will work better.
It's an all-show-no-go product.6 out of 7 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: Light and comfortable but it did not work. I did some troubleshooting with Jabra and it I could still hear no audio. They admitted to having audio problems with these units and said they hoped to have the problem fixed in about 3 weeks.
Updated
I just spoke to Jabra support. They admit that the JX10 will not work with the Treo 650, Treo 700 or Balckberry. They have the same "audio timing" issue with the Jabra model 800. Unfortunately for users and support staff, this is not noted ontheir website.8 out of 12 users found this user opinion helpful.

Best BT Headset I've Had To Date
by sbuff on April 27, 2006
Pros: Light weight with crystal clear sound

Summary: My new JX-10 is paired with a Cingular 8125. People I've talked with have all said that it sounds better than any headset I've had before (all Motos). While I haven't tried it in a convertible on the freeway, a Metallica concert or a train yard, the received sound is the clearest I've experienced. The sound dampening is noticible and it has the same type of "digital" feel to it as my office phone's sound dampening. Everyone reading this needs to realize that an awesome BT HS can't make up for a mediocre phone or bad cell coverage. If your cell phone has reception problems, they will probably be even more noticible on a BT headset. It is also true that all cell phones are not equal when it comes to the implementation of bluetooth technology; just saying that a phone is bluetooth capable or compatible doesn't mean that its bluetooth technology is ready for prime time. Some phones also just don't work well with some headsets. My last phone was a Blackberry 7290 and it didn't like a couple of earlier Moto headsets. As consumers, we have to find the best combination of phone and HS. If the combination doesn't work, it needs to be explained as such. I can't believe that there are user reviews of this product on CNET that talks about how bad the JX-10's DSP is. I haven't seen any of these reviewers touting their expertise as electronic audio engineers, but they seem comfortable trashing this aspect. As BT HS consumers I feel that we need to critically examine what we are purchasing and objectively write our experiences, not make subjective statements beyond our abilities. In summary, despite the earhook clip and the plug on the stand, this is easily the best BT headset I've had so far.
Updated
This is still the BEST BT HS I've owned. The only cons I had in my original post have no effect now. I don't use the charge stand, just the cord, and I opted to use an earbud from Jabra instead of the ear pad and hook that came with the phone. I contacted Jabra support and asked for the ear bud. Jabra support sent me a selection of sizes for free. I've been using one of the "in-ear" buds ever since, without the hook. I don't have any problems keeping the HS secure in my normal daily activities, but if I were going to do anything "high-motion" such as dancing or jogging, I'd use the ear hook for stability. The only time it has fallen out was during a sneeze last month. Yeah, it's still kinda pricey, but it's not much to pay for what has become a stylish appendage. It's still not perfect, but it is better than 9 to me.5 out of 5 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: I've stayed away from BT headsets, and have tried quite a few. None of them seemed to give me the same quality of service as a wired headset. Until now... saw one of these, noted the price, but thought I'd try it anyways. The first time I put it into my ear, I was surprised at how much more comfortable this thing was compared to all the others I've tried. The lack of gel (on my wired) worried me about long wear, but with the earhook (which I really liked), it felt great. Made test calls, after matching it to my own phone in the store, with it in both ears, and with the phone on same and opposite side of body (have had problems with previous BT headsets falling apart in sound quality when worn on my hip), and had no discernible differences in the excellent sound quality. Test call recipients also said I sounded really clear and loud (this was in a crowded, noisy store, so that was a good sign). I didn't like the price, but since I'd been itching to go wireless, took the chance and bought it. Well, so far, it's been great! I wear it with the ear hook all the time - for sound of mind. Sound quality has been good in 3-5 different cell phone services (I travel). I even used it to connect to Skype on my notebook PC, and that works great too. Overall, very satisfied. 2 things... this won't last 6 hours on talk... I get closer to 3-4. And the price was a bit higher than I'd have liked to pay. But you have a satisfied customer right now. No data on long term wear on product, and how good the battery charge holds after constant recharge yet. But so far so good.

Best I have tried

Summary: I have tried several Bluetooth headsets, and have found that with almost all of them, while driving, you have to hold them pressed into your ear in order to hear well. That defeats the purpose of using a headset, which is to free your hands. So I had been searching for a Bluetooth headset that went IN the ear (or at least not ON it), yet was still very small and light.
This is by far the best I have used. The sound quality is excellent. The coverage (distance to phone) is ok (problems when the phone is on the opposite side of my body from the earpiece).
All in all, I have now thrown out (or sold) all my other headsets for this one. I was actually using a WIRED earpiece until I found this for volume and sound requirements. That's gone now also!5 out of 5 users found this user opinion helpful.
