The good: The Aliph Jawbone Icon comes in a variety of beautiful jewellike designs; it has a dedicated on/off switch; and it comes with several ear-fit options. It has many advanced features, including an iPhone battery meter, and is highly customizable with certain Audio and Dial "apps" via Jawbone's own MyTalk Web site. It has amazing sound quality and excellent canceling of wind noise.
The bad: The Aliph Jawbone Icon doesn't have a manual volume rocker and the ear fit could be a bit more comfortable.
The bottom line: Not only is the Aliph Jawbone Icon attractive and affordable with great call quality, but it is also highly customizable with advanced features that make it the most innovative Bluetooth headset we've seen to date.

Summary: I loved my Icon at first! It's comfortable to wear, fits easily into your pocket when you don't need it, and is fun to customize with the voices that Jawbone offers.
However, the speaker is so low that you absolutely cannot hear the person on the other end of the conversation unless you're in a perfectly quiet room. If the TV is on or kids are playing in the background, you have to press it into your ear to hear the other person. If you're driving (which is when you really need a bluetooth headset), talking on it is an effort in futility. There is no volume setting loud enough to even begin to hear the other person. That makes it a deal breaker for me and I'll be looking for another headset soon; a non-Jawbone headset as this is my second Jawbone and the second Jawbone that I couldn't hear the other person on.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Awesome noise cancellation and comfortable, but......
by trlennon1976 on December 15, 2010
Pros: Cancels the noise from drowning out your conversation, quick charge, lightweight and comfortable with all the different options to wear it, upgradeable.
Cons: Battery life is fairly short for a road warrior, I have a hard time hearing the caller, as it seems after all updates and ear bud fits, I still have to have the Jawbone maxed out on volume while still needing more volume.
Summary: Bottom line is the headset battles my Sound ID 510 for my everyday headset. I have tried many headsets out since I am a technical sales rep to make the ...
Summary: Bottom line is the headset battles my Sound ID 510 for my everyday headset. I have tried many headsets out since I am a technical sales rep to make the phone calls as professional as possible only to have to settle with their is not a perfect headset for me. The Jawbone Icon eliminates the noise but I feel it isn't loud enough for me around the machinery I service. The Sound ID 510 has the ability to make the sound you hear custom to what your ear hears, but just a very, very small step behind the Jawbone Icon's noise cancellation. I would give a the Jawbone Icon a perfect star if the audio playback on phone calls (I could care less about listening to music with a one ear headset) loud and clear when I am in the environment that it eliminates the loud noise to the person on the other end.

No volume control on mic (unusable for PC use)

Summary: It's really unfortunate that there's no real sound or mic volume control, which makes it relatevely unusable for bluetooth connection to the PC, because the recording volume comes in at about 1-2 bars out of 10 (optimal audio range for speech recognition, etc. is at 6-7 bars).

Jawbone Icon Thinker rocks!!!

Summary: I'm very happy with my purchase of my Jawbone Icon Thinker. This was recommended by my friend and he was right on the money. I've owned several bluetooths and most recently this one is working for me.
It has a lot of features that I like. AD2P technology makes calls clear as a bell. An On/Off switch comes in handy and is easy to manuever. I like the fact that phone # announcements are customizable and are announced by voice. Pairing is very easy on any Bluetooth compatible phone. Also, the Bluetooth is durable and easy to carry and stays in your ear.
What I don't like about this Bluetooth is that there is no volume rocker and the volume is adjusted via mytalk. Updating the Jawbone with mytalk will not work with Firefox but will work with IE or Google Chrome. It may be uncomfortable if you wear the circle ear gel if you wear it for a long period of time. I ended up getting the teacup ear gels and may resolve the comfort issue.
Overall, I was satisfied with the Jawbone Icon and I feel that this is Bluetooth that is simple and easy to use.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Good, but not great
by rqs_007 on May 1, 2010
Pros: Small, light, easy to use.
Cons: A2DP was an after-thought and doesn't work well. Volume cycling is problematic.

Summary: I like the bells and whistles, but that may be all that they did correctly. The A2DP doesn't work well since you can't control your music or even start/stop it from the ear piece. The ear piece itself has decent quality, but it's just not that loud. It's clear, but I can't figure out how I would hear it in a noisy environment. If you wear it directly in the ear without an ear hook (which offers no support), then maybe you will be okay hearing it, but I hate burying my ear piece in my ear. It's a decent Bluetooth and I wouldn't tell anyone not to get it, but it can't out-perform my old Jabra BT8010 in my opinion.

Not as good as I expected it to be...
by coopdavillage on April 22, 2010
Pros: Small and stylish. Great sound quality
Cons: Not comfortable at all dispite the many earpieces. no volume rocker and the auto sound is not very good. Downlodable voices do not always work as needed or said. No voice control. Had problems with calling the right person or at all.

Summary: I was not really impressed with the Icon. There was no volume control and the auto volume does not work as well as it is stated. The sound quality is great but becuse there is no volume control it was really hard to hear in a noisy environment. The many earpieces that were provided were not comfortable at all, it did have the nicest of the over the ear hooks tried out so far but doesnt make up for the rest. There are no voice control functions. you can download other voices but sometimes they dont work the way the are supposed to which is annoying. We also had sever problems with the call back/redial function not calling the last number that was called. Sometime when calling the person on the other end could not hear you and vice versa. If looks are your only concern than this is probably the headset that you will want but if you want one that gives you a lot of functions and is comfortable and dependable i would say go with the blueant Q1.

BMW of Bluetooth!
by msslavin on February 14, 2010
Pros: AMAZING! Sound is clear, and it's so comfortable that I forget that I am wearing it. Pairs with your phone quickly with no fuss, and I love the on/off toggle switch. I love it so much I went out and bought one right away for my husband!
Cons: I really can't think of any!
Summary: This is not just for business people! It's also PERFECT for mom's that are always running around (I have 2 kids under age 3!). Can't say enough ...
Summary: This is not just for business people! It's also PERFECT for mom's that are always running around (I have 2 kids under age 3!). Can't say enough about how much I love this thing! I really prefer talking on it more than my actual phone. And they are SO stylish (i usually can't stand people wearing bluetooths!). I have yet to try the voice customization, but it seems really fun. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT.
