The good: The Aliph Jawbone Icon comes in a variety of beautiful jewellike designs; it has a dedicated on/off switch; and it comes with several ear-fit options. It has many advanced features, including an iPhone battery meter, and is highly customizable with certain Audio and Dial "apps" via Jawbone's own MyTalk Web site. It has amazing sound quality and excellent canceling of wind noise.
The bad: The Aliph Jawbone Icon doesn't have a manual volume rocker and the ear fit could be a bit more comfortable.
The bottom line: Not only is the Aliph Jawbone Icon attractive and affordable with great call quality, but it is also highly customizable with advanced features that make it the most innovative Bluetooth headset we've seen to date.

My number one recommendation every time. =]
by ohnedich1313 on May 9, 2010
Pros: Ease of pairing mode, sound quality, the various earpieces for the perfect fit.
Cons: No volume rocker, when I hit the talk button for too short of a time it tells me the battery life when I intended to voice dial.

Summary: Well, first things first, I work for Best Buy in Best Buy Mobile. I have customers come in all the time asking for the best Bluetooth headset for them. Generally, I point people in the direction of the Plantronics and the Jawbone Icon. I never really understood why I pointed them in the best direction, it's just that we were trained to be honest and tell customers that those two were the best out there for noise cancellation. Recently, a law has been passed where I live making it illegal to talk on the phone and drive. I realized that I had to get a Bluetooth headset. I first grabbed the Samsung WEP490, which was one of the cheapest with good reviews. I had people complaining that I sounded like I was in a tornado and that it was hard to hear me. I decided that I should just suck it up and shell out the money for the headset that I sell most.
I have paired almost every headset that we sell. I must say that this was the easiest. As soon as I turned it on for the first time, it went into pairing mode. My phone recognized it right away and paired without a problem. Much easier than the Motorola and Samsung headsets.
Then, after I paired it I decided to find the right fit for me. I thought that the earloop would be best, but I was wrong. I ended up just putting back on the original earbud. Though, it was very nice to have that option. They have two sizes of each type of earbud. I also thought this would be great if I somehow lost one.
Today I was doing yardwork. My dad was mowing the lawn and I was out arranging patio furniture. The lawn mower was close to me the entire time, but I managed to hold a conversation the entire time he was mowing. My friend heard me just fine, and I heard him just fine. I must say that I am very impressed with how the headset responded to the noise. It adjusted the volume for me so that I could hear him better in the noisy environment, but it wasn't so loud that I felt like I was going to lose hearing. All in all, a wonderful headset and well worth the price.5 out of 5 users found this user opinion helpful.

Excellent Features
by MarkDK2 on September 20, 2011
Pros: Love that on the iPhone 4 now I hear everything including who is calling though this headset. The battery meter that pops up on the iPhone to tell me how the Icon is holding out is cool too.
Cons: I have yet figured out which is the best fit and getting the headset to work properly 100% of the time where people at the other can hear me well has not happened yet, but I will get it I have only had this for 2 days.
Summary: Overall I got mine on an auction site and did not pay much. The piece works well and is seriously innovative.

To put it simply? Great headset!
by MissRoseZ01 on September 6, 2011
Pros: Great call quality
Good Battery and short charge time
Ready to use right out of the box
Easy to Use
Sleek designCons: Haven't found any yet. If I leave it in too long it'll start to get uncomfortable, but nothing unbearable.

Summary: I had a Blueant which hit the end of its life, so I got this on sale. It was good to go right out of the box, and just to test it I rolled down the windows on my car and made a phone call to my mom. First off, I could hear her perfectly, and secondly, she said my call was crystal clear, no background noise. At this point I was driving down the highway with trucks passing and everything. So impressed. I hopefully will not be in need of another headset for a very long time, and if I am, it will likely be another Jawbone ^_^*

Best Headset Ever
by nine11c2 on September 6, 2011
Pros: Good volume, good noise cancellation, fits in my ear withtout loop, excellent fit and clarity, caller id, will voice dial with my Blackberry, good software support.
Cons: Two piece ear loop is cheap - comes off device and apart between clip and loop, no mute, no separate volume. All minor issue.
Sound on some calls a bit tinny.Summary: The best headset ever. I thought I lost my Plantronics Voyager Pro so ordered one of these. I now have both, found the Voyager, but leave that home. This is ...
Summary: The best headset ever. I thought I lost my Plantronics Voyager Pro so ordered one of these. I now have both, found the Voyager, but leave that home. This is smaller, the large ear gel fits in my ear without a loop (only one EVER to do this). Great volume - use my bberry on about half volume with it. Great mic - no one has ever complained that they can't hear me. Great fit - light. Love that it does caller ID. I'd like to have a dedicated volume button and a headset mute (sometimes I like to be able to walk away from phone and turn off mute as I walk out of a room so no one knows I've picked up a call).

Lite, comfortable, fits well

Summary: I had a BlueAnt T1 for a few months that went intermittent. When I replaced it with another T1, that one kept dropping calls and reconnecting to the iPhone. Went back to Best Buy and talked to the cellular manager who got three of his staff together and they went over the pros and cons of several of the models with me. All agreed that the JB Icon and the BlueAnt T1 were probably the best for me, but all four felt that the Icon had better connection to the iPhone. It's been only two days but the Icon feels good and has not dropped a call or disconnected/reconnected to my iPhone except when I have powered down and back up.
I would like to have a volume switch and longer battery life, but I can live with comfort and quiet. -
Best Headset to date! Over 1 yr old and still great!
by jp712 on February 7, 2011
Pros: Battery Life! (4 hour talk time on one charge, my phone dies first.)
Clarity and range. I get a true 10 meters from this headset.
Noise cancellation is second to none. I can drive with the windows down and still be heard.
Will support A2DP audio.Cons: None, there are several ear covers and a retention loop. I'm a bit in between the sizes but it works well!
Summary: Great product! Well worth the money. I have owned 5 bluetooth headsets. I purchased and returned 3 before I found this one!

A few cons keep it from 5 stars
by EALChilazr on January 27, 2011
Pros: Easy to use, great noise cancellation, comfortable, good volume for most situations, useful voice apps.
Cons: No on-set volume control, max volume not as loud as could be.

I really like the "Noise Assassin" for fighting wind noise. I've owned two other BT devices and this one just blows them out of the water for noise cancellation. I've driven a convertible at 70 mph and was able to be understood just fine. By comparison a Blue Ant V1 would get washed out during a brisk walk. The piece is comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Never did my ear get fatigued or sore from using it. Often times I found myself reaching just to make sure it was still there. I had completely forgotten about it. The volume is a fine level for most things you do. If I need it louder I can adjust it on my phone. But for all but the noisiest situations, it's serviceable. I admit that I haven't gone through the trouble to install any of the apps on it. However I think they are useful, especially for those without smart phones with GPS, also the voice-to-text app seems really nice. I'd like to try that as I really don't feel comfortable driving and texting so that leads to a long time before I get to some messages.
I do not like that there's no volume control on the piece itself. I can control volume from my phone's volume switch, but I feel that defeats some of the purpose of having a BT. The maximum volume level is a little low sometimes. The commercial with the girl in the dune-buggy shows her talking, not listening. We could hear her, but there would have been no way for her to hear someone talking to her. That said, it does very well in most situations. I just feel that when I drive with the top down, I should be able to hear the other party as well as they can hear me. -
AWESOME!! Better than all of its predecessors by far!!
by teanuts on July 30, 2010
Pros: LOVE the shape, size, ergonomics, loud/clear sound; improved micro USB charging cable; battery life indicator on cell phone is a fantastic idea!; on/off switch; this model blows away all previous Jawbones. They've fixed many flaws of the previous.
Cons: Not much I can say...
Summary: I have owned every Jawbone and several other brand Bluetooth headsets. This blows away anything I've used in the past.
