The good: The Klipsch Image S5i Rugged earphones feature a durable, water-resistant design, and the in-line remote's buttons are large enough to be operated by gloved hands. The earphones provide thumping bass and solid overall audio. Includes a hard-sided case with an integrated flashlight.
The bad: The Klipsch Image S5i earphones don't offer the most secure fit, since the remote adds weight and there are no ear loops.
The bottom line: For the skier, snowboarder, or skater who doesn't have a helmet with headphones built in, the Klipsch Image S5i Rugged earphones are the next best thing.

Will not be disappointed, worth every red cent!
by GREGUL on January 26, 2011
Pros: Stellar sound quality, clean and clear at all volume levels, tight bass and not muddy, easy to use remote especially if you use gloves, durable, sweat resistant and strong, practical caring case. Earbuds fit perfectly and do not fall out.
Cons: Many people expect little or no cable noise but you gotta understand physics...jam your fingers in your ear and jump around...you'll hear your feet thudding down, your ear canal is sensitive to vibrations...no brainer. Buy other then noise-isolating!

Summary: I work in an office and the noise of clucking hens (I don't literally mean chickens) are around and can be loud, well, if I turn the tunes up and snap my fingers next to my ear I cannot hear the snapping or the "hens" AT ALL...perfect! My ears are not hurting with hours of use, the earbuds stay put, awesome sound, highly recommended. I have an alergy to metal and these earbuds are rubber/plastic and well built so I have no issue with any alergic reactions to them, many of the other earbuds out there are metal casing and do cause problems for me like the Skullcandy Titaniums...good earbds but they hurt from the size and the metal did a number on my ears. I decided to shop around for over 6 months to locate the right investment of earbuds because I like the noise isolation and these puppies deliver. The price is warranted if you compare to the other choices out there for ruggedness, sound and performance so I can say I am fully satisfied with my purchase and if your like me then you'll be happy. One recommendation is if you use an iPOD then I recommend you turn the EQ to FLAT, if you mess around with the EQ then the sound quality may not be so good because these earbuds are designed for true sound and not manufactured...which is all you need...something that you don't need to screw around with for a good sound.

Good sound quality, not great for their intended use.

Pros: Great sound quality, comfy silicone tips, comes with multiple tip sizes and sturdy case.
Cons: Tons of cable noise, heavy remote, tips slips out constantly, "sport mode" is awkward.

Summary: I requested these specifically as a Christmas present from my girlfriend, as I needed a new set of headphones for exercising. Did a lot of research online, and chose these over the S4i due to their water/sweat resistant properties.
Remembered there was a shirt clip included originally, but must admit I lost it. Still think it should have been built in considering the weight of the remote.
The audio quality is great, with great bass and great mids. I agree with the CNET reviewers about the highs; they could definitely be better, but I don't listen to many arias while jogging.
I was really disappointed with how they functioned for my daily jogs. The remote is quite heavy, and with every stride it bounces up & down and tugs at the cable, causing a ton of noise and pulling the tips little by little out of your ear canal. A clip on the remote would have solved this problem. I also found the remote fairly useless for making calls. It is placed much too far down the cable for the microphone to pick up much of anything, and the sensor is located on the BACK of the remote causing excessive noise from the microphone rubbing against your clothing.
The flaws in the product make it pretty useless for daily exercising and making phone calls, and prompts me to only give it 2 stars.
I did use them skiing and found the remote to be sized well for using it with gloves, which was a plus, but the problems with the microphone were still very apparent.

Best earphones I have ever bought.

Pros: Outstanding audio quality. Brings my favorite songs to life. Worth every penny.

Summary: I decided to get a pair of Bose earphones after using the regular apple earphones for a couple of years. They turned out to have a better sound range so I was much happier with them over apple's. But I wasn't fully satisfied with my new earphones so I did a bit of research and looked at reviews and finally decided to buy a pair of these. So today I went down to futureshop and got a pair. I am pleased to say that they exceeded my expectations and turned out to be everything I had hoped for and more. The audio quality is amazingly sharp crystal clear, vibrant, audio with exceptional depth and base. And the build quality is excellent. All in all I give these earphones a solid five star.

However, I don't recommend using them for active activities like jogging and running. The reason why is because when making contact, the vibrations gets picked up by the headphones, which creates an annoying thumping sound.

Updated on Jun 20, 2011For Me I find that they are more comfortable and don't fall out, especially when lying down, when wearing them in sport mode. (Which is basically looping the cord over and behind the ear). But for me I only use these when I am not doing anything active. (I use my Bose IE2 Headphones for that). All in all I give the Klipsch S5i earphones a solid five star. -

I've never tried ear bus over $100 but these are great.
